Is this a good time to point out that I miss the punctuality of the WAYDRN original thread title? Is (what are you doing now) vs (right now) redundant? Has the OP silently taken it upon himself to clean up a previous grammar mistake? I guess maybe I miss the formality, when I yell at my dog I don’t say “get over here now!” I say “right now!”  I guess it won’t really matter until 26’ (or wee hours of 25’) when the OP renews this legendary thread, though by next year it might be titled WYDN

You bring up an excellent point!  Maybe I can reach out to management and see if they can fix the title?

I will also update my calendar so make the title correctly-incorrect!

If it's an immediate RIGHT NOW then the answer should always be posting to this thread. Anything else you're doing simultaneously like sitting, chewing gum, being embarrassed for our country, taking a dump, etc. also acceptable additional answers. Never understood why it isn't leaving a dump, oh well.

mourning the loss of a former boss (the only man who ever signed a paycheck for me aside from my father). He was more than a boss, more like a great friend.

Fires in LA suck. Winds making it worse. Lack of water only amplifies the issue. I feel for them

“Thanks. Yes. We are fine. There was one fire a mile away but that was contained quickly last night. We have friends staying with us. They had to evacuate. We all know of people who have lost homes. Pretty bad. I drove past the Hollywood fire. Apocalyptic scene.” - a text just now from a colleague who works at USC

@ColbyLang I hope those two aren't related.  Sorry for that.

I have family in LA, not currently near any of the fires, but with many friends that have lost homes already. The pics are horrific.

The destruction is unimaginable in 2025.

It’s like the fires in San Fran and Chicago we learn about in history class.

It can “see” through foliage and stuff too.  Military uses it, as do mining companies, and I am sure others do too.

I'm in the self-generated stall to let the first CFP Semi Final game get some substantial time on the clock before enjoying the high-speed game only viewing afforded by DVR.  Same with all remaining CFP and NFL playoff games.
No worries, this practice is a constant across my viewing choices.

Just shook some Cheeto crumbs out of my hoodie’s front pocket. Stashed a bag in the rec center gym for my kids’ basketball practice. Not supposed to eat snacks in there, so we had to be sneaky.  We are bada$$es.

The PL takes a back seat and gives way to the FA Cup 3rd Round, when teams from the top two tiers join the competition.  Waiting for them will be opponents drawn from those almost in the top two tiers all the way through to a bunch of blokes who do real jobs whose hobby has lucked them through.  Think field of dreams meets any given Sunday, kind of thing.

The whimsy is that teams from the Man City and Liverpool mould rock up at some obscure backwater to be confronted by a corrugated pitch and outdoor toilets to play against lads that would otherwise be driving a taxi or laying bricks.  You choose your own ending along the scale of fantasy to crushing reality.

Exciting games to note : none

    Interesting sideline games :

Liverpool v Accrington Stanley - it is the law in England that whenever you say Accrington Stanley, you must immediately follow with ‘who are they?’ This stems from a TV commercial for milk in 1989, during which the child protagonists are in full Liverpool kit. So this is life imitating art.  One of the actors is now in prison for murder, that wasn’t in the advert, so life doesn’t completely imitate art afetrall.  5-0

Man City v Salford City : notable in that Citeh claim their fans from Manchester whereas Man Utd’s tend to be from London, Bangkok etc. Salford is a city within the Greater Manchester area and had wallowed in obscurity until Utd’s Class of ’92 decided to dabble in ownership. Both Nevilles, Scholes, Beckham et al poured in a few spare million each and suddenly the team got better. Funny how that happens. Not sure the enthusiasm sustains ten years on, but the monster is created now.  They did a Wrexham 8 years before Reynolds and McElhenney. 3-0

Tamworth v Spurs : any game with Spurs involved spells fun fun fun. The hosts play in the 5th tier and likely on professional contracts valued around £40K per year while their guest’s talisman Son Heung-min somehow gets by on £10m per year. Four leagues higher, 250 times the pay.

See you on the other side, when several managers will have rotated and new players should be starting to arrive.

Other girls may try to take me away
But you know, it's by your side I will stay
