I’m digging the new forum pic, @Ozzie_Isaac - have been enjoying watching Landman so far this year.  It’s got to be one of the better shows hardly anyone is talking about.

It's a great show for sure.  Not so accurate, but still great.  I live in Midland, where it's supposed to take place and do work in the "patch".  We talk at work about it while giving it a good laugh.  My wife and I finished the first season last night.  Some of the shots and scenes are filmed out here.

@fishlessman - Nice new ride you're getting, congrats.  One thing that I've wondered about Lexus, does their small grill provide adequate engine cooling?

putting a tow hitch receiver in the front for moving boats around the yard, the ball might block off the airflow...

@fishlessman I hope so. I looked last night to see if it has been renewed and it hasn't yet.  Without giving anything away for those who aren't caught up yet, the season ended like there will be another season.

Same experience with Yellow Stone.  Have some friends on the show (extras and bit parts riding) and others have filming at their places.  It is like the Soap Opera version of ranching and show horse world (the rodeo scenes are actually underplayed though , those folks are crazy and jackpot barrel racers are trouble looking for a place to happen).

with that said, I absolutely love Taylor Sheridan’s show.  He knows how to take a niche lifestyle and make it fun to watch for everyone!  Landman and Tulsa King are my favorites.

Totally agree, he does a great job.  I really like Tulsa King as well.  Of the Yellowstone spin-offs, we really enjoy 1923.  Check out Lioness.  It's really really good as well.

No come on - I was under the impression all of this TV stuff was firmly grounded in reality!

They had lots of different locales.  It was basically one guy or one girl dates 4 others and then eliminates them through the 30 minute episode.  Then they had a date with the final person, and usually it just went completely south.  It was like and entire season of the bachelor condensed into 30 minutes, including 10 minutes of commercials!

Nope, I vaguely remember “wife swap” I think it was called
Wife Swap was hilarious.  One family with an overbearing controlling husband and submissive religious housewife swaps with a family with the exact opposite dynamic.

Husband always looked like an ass and wife always realized there was something better.  Then ultimately deciding they preferred the original life.

So much awesome Fox Reality shows from that era.

  • A guy I went to high school with was a contestant on The Bachelorette Canada some years back. I watched the first episode for this reason alone. When he arrived to the mansion in the limo to meet the bachelorette for the first time, he got up onto the roof of the car and back flipped off of it.

He was the first to be eliminated from the show.

No more real techs anymore , we even started changing out our trucks this year from large utility bed trucks to mid size vans since we really carry so few parts anymore , mostly OEM Boards and such , glad I'm old and fading

Checked my calendar and seems I'm free in early May.  Put my name in the hat for a volunteer opportunity on the Faroe Islands.  The odds are steep to be chosen so not holding my breath.  Mrs. Cooper is curiously enthused about me signing up and my subsequent absence if I win.  Article about the program is here . . .
