For those who may get confused, it is Bob Uecker who passed, not Tom Selleck

Back from the eye Dr, first time in eleven years.  Waiting for the dilation to recede; at least I still don't need glasses to drive (had LASIK done about 15 years ago).

They call them heated seats ... because rear defroster was already taken.

Nice approach. My go-to for CI and CS is often Crisco in the outdoors.

What’s the plan with the onions? Not sacrificial, I hope.

    100% sacrificial.

Is there no salvaging? Flemish stew, French onion soup, etc.?

Around here an onion is like $1.

We’re practically swimming in onions in America.

Checked my calendar and seems I'm free in early May.  Put my name in the hat for a volunteer opportunity on the Faroe Islands.  The odds are steep to be chosen so not holding my breath.  Mrs. Cooper is curiously enthused about me signing up and my subsequent absence if I win.  Article about the program is here . . .

I hope you get picked - this is so totally cool!
    Love you bro!

Deep in to the transfer window and little cash has been splashed, yet.  Last weekend’s absence of PL was replaced by a series of mid-week games that, overall, told us little other than Forest really are playing well at the moment - while at the other end a clear cohort of relegation contenders is emerging.

    Saturday

Newcastle v Bournemouth,  the Toon are flying and looking for a tenth straight win, which by any measure is impressive stuff. Eddie’s former charges, the Cherries are having good season too and won’t be a pushover. 2-1

Brentford v Liverpool,  the Reds remain atop the league by a small margin. The Bees have put some poor form behind them recently.  I don’t see many goals, nor a home win, so 0-1 it is.

Leicester v Fulham, oh dear it’s all heading south for RVN and the Foxes with 6 defeats on the spin, their guile has deserted them which is a problem because that was effectively their best player.  The Cottagers have flat lined but to be honest this is a cake walk for them. 0-2

West Ham v Palace, the Hammers grabbed a valuable win mid-week, mainly by being slightly less bad than Fulham  - which was the first of Graeme Potters’ new reign.  Playing the new manager card can be a gamble and overall makes not a great deal of difference, but the a moderate re-correction could be all that’s needed.  The mighty Eagles continue to stabilise and a mid-week win at Leicester pumps air in to the gap between us and the relegation gang. 1-1

Arsenal v Aston Villa, a recent return to winning ways for the Villans is timely for their continued Euro ambitions. Despite being a close second in the league the Gunners have not quite landed the punch which shows their title winning potential. Winning is the only opinion for them, 2-1 but far from guaranteed

    Sunday

Everton v Spurs, the Toffees went back to the future by resurrecting Wee Davie Moyes in to the manage role. Hugely symbolic and potentially helpful.  The squad are moribund and one of the main reasons they will stay up is that two other teams are worse than them - narrowing the relegation odds but not deleting the risk.  Oh, and this is Spurs who have navigated to the uncharted waters of 14th.  As directionless as they have been for several years I don’t believe this is what the club sought from the current helmsman Big Ozzie Ange.  At least there will be gaols, a rare sight at Goodison. 1-3

Man Utd v Brighton, have the Red Devils turned a corner?  Well they were 1-0 down to by far the worst team in the league until the last ten minutes, last night. Then won 3-1. Had their three goal come first, no issue - but they didn’t.  The filthy fetid Seagulls are different gravy and will see this as a chance to keep a top six rival behind them. All results possible. 1-2

    Forest v Southampton, 3-0

Ipswich v Man City, undefeated in four and Citeh might be levelling out, and let’s be honest their squad is better than 6th.  It’s just not happening for the Tractor Boys and spirited, valiant but futile endeavour looks to be the motif for this season.  They could stay up but have to find a way to avoid defeat more often - as a handful of draws could be the difference.  Then again pulling off a win here would be epic.  And a big part of me wants that to happen.  1-2

    Monday

Chelsea v Wolves,  there was a time when Chelsea’s Monkey/Typewriter/Shakespeare approach to signings seemed to be working.  Now it’s not, with two defeats and three draws in recent weeks.  Wolves themselves surged but have re-slumped and are only technically not in the relegation zone.  Should be a home win, probably will be.  2-0

A reasonable selection of stuff there. Can’t say it’s a blockbusting card of thrills and spills.

Other girls may try to take me away
But you know, it's by your side I will stay

Wasn’t a question of cost. I just love fried onions and wondered if they were destined for a neat dish.
  • That’s really cool, @dbCooper. Keep us posted on your application. Amazing that they can perform all of the restoration in only three days.

I saw a prediction map....a heat map of the US showing chance of going below freezing in the coming days. I think only Florida and Texas were sticking out of the red blob.
