Clean that up with a sharpie @Canugghead. This reminds me of a Mercedes ml320 I had, the blend door quit working so I drilled a small hole in the dash and ran a straight piece of metal rod to the door, push for heat, pull for a/c
    South of Columbus, Ohio.

  • @Canugghead

And here I thought you dropped some of your breakfast sandwich on the dash. Nicely done.

In any product I buy, I always think about how it will age and how easy it will be to rejuvenate. Black is the easiest to match, so sharpies can be extremely helpful. I’ve used them on shoes, amplifier tolex, etc. All sorts of stuff.

For sheriff yes, for President no.  Biden made a presidency out of persecuting the last president, so I think anything goes there.
    Is that wrong?

Full disclosure ... original plan was to burn a hole with a red hot finishing nail and insert a cotter pin. Unfortunately the nail made a hole too big and I went into damage control mode; turned out the glue now has a leg for stronger bond. Instead of camouflaging it with a sharpie I should highlight it with some flourescent paint or put a reminder sticker above it. Why? without the reminder me or someone will forgetfully or unknowingly break the glue off one day.

Love your HVAC control fix, have to remember that.

    Another fix.

Make shift screwdriver to access tight spots...

6 in cord was under constant stress at the grommet and developed an internal breakage, would only work intermittently...

replaced it with a longer cord...

No more sharp bend and twist...

I thought Biden distanced himself from the justice department and all of the investigations and subsequent indictments and trials - several of which were state and civil driven. Maybe I just follow partisan news sources and need to think about finding others.

    What would you recommend @Ozzie_Isaac?

11 year old daughter's birthday party today.  Plan was pizzas on egg and the giggle of girls watching "the wild robot" while I changed tires for winters. Plan was not finding water on the dining room hardwood when I was vacuuming....

looked up saw the wet spot dripping. emptied out the undercounter in the kids bathroom and found that the cold water side dripped when turned on. 15 years old and completely corroded, no chance of changing a cartridge.  The plug used a special American Standard "quick connect" which would mean an easy tap replace without doing the drain, *IF* American Standard still sold taps that did that.

    American Standard is neither.

First mistake was going to Home Despot for a new tap. Was very clear - My wife wanted a deck and two handles. Pointed out the best match and the clerk grabbed it so we could check if it accepted the plug quick connect. It did not so I'm changing the drain pipe too - but the tap came with inlet leads so there is that. Trip one.

Got home, took apart the taps, and ... the clerk had grabbed a single handle version - the wrong one. When we opened it we check the underside but did not pull out the taps to count handles. grrr. headed back to get taps with two handles and the "helpful" clerk, I swear to God, took the display one flipped it over to show the brass hot/cold inlets and said "see - this one has two". sigh.  grabbed the right one and back home. Trip two.

Got home, replaced the drain, replace the taps, grabbed the inlet leads. No inlet leads.  So the 1 handle variant of the AS Cadet taps comes with leads, the two handle does not. grrrr. The leads on the leaky taps did not fit the new taps and the old leads screwed INTO the brass inlet pipes under the taps not OVER the brass. never seen that before. headed over to Home Hardware to get some leads. Trip three.

got the bathroom reassembled for the arrival of the giggle of girls and headed out to change tires. Inside as it is now raining. Pizza in the oven. No time to egg and too wet. Gotta get that overhang for the winter.

will check tomorrow if I got everything tightened enough and thanked my now departed Dad for teaching me how to do what I had to do.

You can run a vehicle just on jump starter for a bit. Enough to get it into the driveway after a tow.

I feel for you @zaphod, I'm exhausted just reading about what you went through. While you're at it I suggest you invest in a Govee water leak detection system, all it takes is one incident to recoup your investment.

    Ain't means "is not"

    It can be confusing.

Who was the last farmer president, Jimmy?

I think it is meant to be a rhetorical question. Very confusing indeed.

@Gulfcoastguy - that is making a difference right there.  What a great gesture.  Way for your uncle to setup up and effectively "close the deal."

I know very well what ain’t means. To prove that I am truthful I will use said word in sentences.

Harris ain’t going to be president.
Biden ain’t going to be president.
Weirdos ain’t going to continue running wild.
I ain’t going to starve to death because Trump crushed Harris.
I ain’t going to use so called pronouns.
I ain’t woke. However am awake just like over 70 million other good, God fearing Christians.
I ain’t going to give into liberal stupidity.

See, I know very well what the word means. May Trump bless us all. And I ain’t joking. I couldn’t resist that last one 🤣
