Hitting it’s stride or regressing to the mean - you decide, but as we reach game week 10 the truth about each team is emerging. Man Utd, languishing in 14th finally lost patience with Erik and we await confirmation of his successor. A rapid sequence of victories could see them back where they think they belong, but…. Of the remaining anomalies Newcastle and West Ham in 12th and 13th, only Eddie at the Toon will be feeling the heat. Three defeats in the last five is not an acceptable return for the all the petro-pounds poured in.
Saturday
Newcastle v Arsenal - form says away win, and the Gunners have slipped to four points behind Liverpool in 2nd. Big statement win if they can do it. Toon are not in good shape, but it would be foolish to assume this will be simple or straight forward. 0-1
Bournemouth v Man City - undefeated Citeh head to the Cherries and ought to take all three with minimum fuss. But injuries are piling up and their hosts won’t be for rolling over and being tickled. 1-2
Ipswich v Leicester - highlighted fixture on the wall calendar since day 1 for the Tractors Boys, and they are still seeking their first win. While the Foxes aren’t convincing they have that extra percentage point of guile, which is why they are well clear of the relation fight presently. Big, big match for both. It’ll be 1-1 until the very very end and then a heart wrenching goal seals it for the Foxes. 1-2
Liverpool v Brighton,- the Red army are in menacing form and the draw at Arsenal last week should be seen as evidence that they are very strong contenders for the title. As popular as the filthy’s are with the media, form speaks loudest 2-0
Forest v West Ham - a quirk of this season is that these two teams are, to quote Maverick “inverted”, albeit lacking the sexual tension. I assume. Quite how the season has panned out this way for each is a mystery, and that matters not at all. 2-1
Southampton v Everton - five unbeaten for the Toffees means the Dyche effect is pumping out at 11. Saints are really struggling. A dramatic stylistic shift to obdurate pragmatism is called for, but they have committed to playing with flair and elan. Sunk by Christmas. 0-1
Wolves v Palace, finally a win albeit against the Spursy-est of Spurs and then another mid-week. Could the tide have turned for the mighty Eagles and they now surge to about mid-table? Maybe, but not certain. Wolves have been worse than Palace, which is small sample group - but a last minute equaliser against the fetid Seagulls could be the fillip they need. Tough match. 1-1
Sunday
Spurs v Villa, Spursy Spurs caveat applies, naturally. The Villans have held a high standard across the PL and CL so far and having fielded a second string against Palace mid-week, shouldn’t fear this match at all. But it’s Spurs. Could 3-0 or 0-3. My bet is several goals shared and Villa to sneak it. 2-3
Man Utd v Chelsea, the 8th re-spawn of manager since Sir Alex left is looming and the Old Trafford colossus have never really been convincing in the aftermath. Peculiar ownership has degraded almost all aspects of the club, yet they are still big big players. The Chels’ are emerging from several odd seasons and somehow a decent team is playing well this time out. 1-2
Monday
Fulham v Brentford, west end boys play the west end boys - nether of whom emanate from Sierra Leone, just to be clear. The Bees tend to win or lose, which the Cottagers have an equal split of all three outcomes so far. So what? 1-1, that’s what.
So, there’s that. Anything else going on with you guys this week coming up?

These prominent grain elevators have been on the horizon since I moved here, 28 years ago.
They will be imploded tomorrow at 0800.

Just watch a few Vincenzo Capuano videos. Makes pizza look way too easy and I sorta wanna go to Naples just to try that dough. Interesting enough, his ratings on trip advisor look hit or miss. Not that those are always honest.

Like I am sure you are all doing too, preparing for 5th November.
Huge celebrations up and down the country as undisturbed government continues and the most cunning of plots to destabilise the nation is thwarted.
Remember, remember the 5th of November as the saying goes.
See more here;

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gunpowder_Plot
Appreciate this all stems from 1605, that’s not just after four o’clock by the way, but in fact almost 200 years before you decided to try it on your own as a nation.
And note that if it had happened then the Virginia Company may never have received a royal charter and then where would we all be?
Other girls may try to take me away
But you know, it's by your side I will stay
