Maybe, just maybe the acolytes will realize this F'ing deal and stop contributing to his legal defense fund.  However, the prior is clouded with Friday night wishful thinking.  F'me.

I've been here since about 1999, so I'm not new around here. I once posted a story about my vasectomy, and how it felt like I was snuggling a small turkey leg into my home, and also a story about my three sleepless nights because I had one saber toothed crotch cricket that was just chirping and chirping. You know, if it just moved once I could have found it, but it sat there quietly and chirped.

It is Friday and this place owes a strong pulse to the some fun BGE related art  thread for surfacing many great contributors of yesteryear.
The challenge is to reestablish the activism.  Fire away.

So does Canadia’s universal health care not cover dental?  The US’s limited, socialist, lib-rul healthcare system (military only) did, and it worked beautifully for me for 37 years.  Not anymore, in retirement….
Was your Insert torque wrench the “click” type?  That tickled me to no end when I got my two implants done.

I’ve had salmonella and kidney stones. I’d take kidney stones over salmonella all day every day.

In Onario even basic dental care (let alone implant) is not covered if you have average/decent income. Basic care is free only for low income folks or those on social assistance.

For folks with employer paid medical benefits, most plans don't cover implant. We were lucky when swmbo was working, her plan with the municipal government was considered top-tier with 50% implant coverage.

Yup they use two types of wrench, a thumb turn one to get it started, finished with the clickety clickety!

Edit: 3k each just for the implant + approx 1.3k per crown on top.

My implants 14 years ago were 5k each…BUT my 11 day stay in the hospital afterward and the 50 daily out patient treatments ran the bill up to $139k. Thankfully my insurance took care of all but $1,800 which I happily paid.

The only thing I never understood was why my insurance company never went after the oral surgeon as my infection problems had to have stemmed from his facility!

Heck, last two years I spent $18k out of pocket for dental work, that's after my dental insurance. The medications that I've had to take over time wreaked havoc on my teeth. Also, I swallowed three crowns during the pandemic, two of which were gold. No, I did not try to find them afterwards. The funniest thing I read up on it, was that one should eat corn immediately, so that one can tell when to stop looking for them. Uh, no thanks. Five new crowns and two new implants followed. They didn't think the implants would take because of my bone disease, so they put the socket in and waited months to see if the bone would hold it. Luckily, it seems to have worked. Messed up, what I go through with the AVN and all the consequences of it.  I will say that when they used the little ratchet wrench to install the inserts it felt really weird, and I had a lot of anxiety over it because they weren't sure if it would hold, or if it would damage my jawbone instead. It took a lot of consults with a few of my specialists before they decided on a plan. In the end it was up to me to proceed or not. I'm glad I went for it, but it was very nerve wracking.
