    Ugh, cc.

It's on an awful lot at our house.  My wife's hearing is worse than mine AND she insists on catching every word of dialog.  I don't mind missing words here and there.  The rub for me is when it's on, I inevitably fall into reading it and not watching.  She does the opposite, so she asks me what they said.  Never on for sports, what they say is less important and cc never lands in a good spot on the screen.

I've foregone having a surround system, I just use a sound bar under the tv and that probably helps with hearing words. @johnmitchell we've had the same issue, I've found if I shut the tv completely off and reboot the Roku box the delay goes away, at least for a few weeks.
    Love you bro!

@Gulfcoastguy - My issue is tinnitus which masks a lot of the audio on TV programming. CC is a better solution for me than raising the volume. I watch movies and TV shows from a variety of foreign countries almost exclusively. Very few have spoken English but most now have a variety of language choices for CC. Recent Netflix movies are released in multiple languages with local actors from those countries. I watch the credits and am amazed at how many non English productions of a single movie are listed, with the names of the actors for each language. Sorry for hijacking the original thread. Oh I have tinnitus also. Still not a problem unless there’s background noise. That mutt in the picture barks so loud that my iWatch warns me that I am in a loud environment. Still he is the first dog of the previous 3 who is going to be a watchdog.

Been a handful of articles in the last couple years about the increasing percentage of people that watch with subtitles on.

Pretty interesting article.  I’ve found myself switching on CC a lot more than I would have in the past.
I blame the "artistic" mixing now.  Form over substance.  It is really aggravating, but I too use CC a lot.  Even with decent audio setups, I can't make up for terrible audio mixing.

I watch cc because no matter what I throw at my tv in terms of speakers I can’t hear the damn thing… too many echos I can’t figure it out
Surround sound does that to me on home systems and the one built into the tv. I have to shut that off. I think the producers do a poor job with tv movies and events with regards to surround sound

He should be maxed out. Vet said that at least. We had a 120# Weimaraner, so we’re accustomed to big pups

Fence is to protect the dog from the cats.

He has yet to jump out himself.  I’m not entirely sure he knows he could jump out.

Anyway, as time passes the cold war between them continues to thaw.  We’re making progress.

The cool weather has given Nemo a bad case of the zoomies. He had his next to last dog training class today and seemed to have actually regressed. Stay is a particularly hard thing for him to do. I told him if he didn’t fly right I was going to let the vet neuter him. That or he was going to be a new bath mat. It doesn’t help that I am having to either walk or dose the older dog every 4 hours now. He had an eye ulcer that isn’t healing.

This big boy did a zoomie right into oldest daughter’s arms, almost took her out in the process   Fun (I think) when they don’t know their own goofy strength.

Daughter is 5’11” for dog size reference.

Haha!  That look he is giving you in the second photo is priceless!  He got exactly what he wanted.

Lmao, yep he’s a stinker but a good boy so we are lenient on his mild indiscretions.
