Pfizer/Moderna Vaccine

I will get it as soon as I can.  I volunteered for two vaccine trails (July and Oct) but never got the invite.  This falls into the "no-brainer" decision for me.

I'll get it when I am able.  i do have to say that Jenny McCarthy makes a compelling argument to be an anti-vaxer.

Yeah, I think the efficacy of the mRNA technology is unusually high around the mid 90s percentile with mild, flu-like side effects so far....will be surprised if any of the other types of vaccines are as good.

So far AstraZeneca is either 70% or 90% depending on some different factors. What it is is 25% of the cost of Pfizer and much easier to distribute. Cost makes a difference.

Funny how the colloquial term for "shot" in the UK is "prick" and I'll resist the urge for a joke at this time because it would be too obvious.

I actually thought that Brits say “jab” instead. I watch a couple of UK YouTube channels and they talk about the different colloquialisms frequently.

I'll take them whenever it becomes available to the masses.

What percentage of folks in the general population do you predict will end up skipping the vaccine altogether? I'll say 30%.

What percentage of folks in the general population that get the first injection do you predict will end up skipping the second injection? I'll say 30%.

I think there should be an incentive for the general population to try and ensure they get both shots - it's free if you get both shots but if you miss the second shot you'll be billed $500.

They were already insufferable and dangerous.

If we are not living World War Z in the next few weeks I will take it.

The COVID has gotten closer to home.  A little over a month ago an active 70 something in our extended family died from it.   Now our younger son and daughter-in-law have it.  She has been sick - he, so far, not.  This week our second grandchild will be born, and we cannot go to the hospital (I understand, but it sucks).  My wife is high risk but one to worry about things she hears about the vaccine on social media, etc.

I wish this would get traction beyond our former presidents and Dr Fauci.  Just venting here!

"Now that there is a vaccine, we need the "across the culture" heavy-weights to be queued up and media hyped getting the shot.  This will go far in helping convince many that it is safe.  
First in line should be POTUS (aka Cheeto) as that will change the trajectory of the nay-sayers but I hold little hope of that happening. 
I am current culture driver challenged but I'm sure you could get a whole lot of media and eye-ball saturation with less than 100 celebrities in all fields to volunteer.  Too bad it won't happen.

I will take it.  Attendance at public events, concerts, football, baseball, hockey, may require proof of vaccination.  Will never get back to normal without it.

As many high risk folks as I'm around there is no way I can not get it. Always assumed this was a no-brainer.
