I didn't handle it much before putting it away for safe keeping, but it is outstanding in the fit and finish category.  Just as one would expect for a $1500 revolver.  I did not work the action (I know, I know)  The wood is absolutely beautiful, the photos don't do it justice.  The stainless is polished bright and is as shiny as I have seen.

I think Colt knew they needed to make these to the same standards as the old ones, but are using modern equipment.   I am pleased with it.  So pleased, that I went ahead and put my name on the next 4.25" he gets.

That’s money in the bank my friend. In the near future it will be worth double what you paid for it. If things go the way as planned it will one day be worth it’s weight in gold. 

To give you an example a few months ago I was paying 3-4 dollars for 100 primers when buying in bulk. Now I see bids as high as 40 bucks per hundred.

I've been very pleased with my CZ 457 American in .17. The build quality screams centerfire but in a rimfire rifle. You don't see that very often. Ruger's 10/22's are junk off the shelf.

Especially the newer 10/22s.  I spent years buying older 10/22s and massaging them.  After you rework the bolt, trigger group, pillar bead the barrels (or just clearance them), rework the firing pins, reseat the barrel, or even reline it, and fix the slop in the magazine they are shooters!  I really like my mannlicher versions.  Even have one I converted to .17hm2.  Fun times!

I have the CZ 452 (now discontinued) Ultra Lux in 22LR. It has been a heck of a good gun. Solid as rock and smooth as silk. 

On a related note, I also have a CZ 550 American Safari Magnum. It is chambered in 458 Lott/Winchester Magnum. In real hot weather extraction can be a little tricky with the Lott loads. Haven’t shot enough of the 458 Win mag loads to give an honest opinion on extraction with them. 

The extraction issues don’t really concern me because they have been limited. And I don’t hunt dangerous game so it’s not a life threatening issue. The gun is just a play pretty.
