Replacing a dead ThermoWorks Smoke with this:

Hope you like it.  I have both and prefer the Smoke.   Only use the Meater on the rare occasions I’m smoking in the rain.

If there are still any horse racing fans out there besides @gonepostal (a dying breed, along with boxing) this year marks the 50th anniversary of Secretariat winning the Triple Crown (first one since Citation in 1948).  Secretariat still holds the track records for all three of the Triple Crown races.  Greatness defined.
So, Churchill Downs (Kentucky Derby race track) is holding a special banquet to commemorate the event in late April. I am "all in."  This is one of those epic window of opportunity jumps.
Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. # 38 for the win.  Life is too short for light/lite beer!  Seems I'm livin in a transitional period.

Kentucky Derby is on my bucket list for sure.

Well bought a new Kuiu hunting backpack for an upcoming Axis hunt but that’s been squashed.   The ranch is near the Mexico border and it has been hit multiple times in the last week by alleged illegals so it’s been deemed unsafe to stay.   Glad for my friend it is not the primary residence.

Yep.   Never a problem in over 3 decades.   Gone a bit crazy down there lately.   Seen wild game cam pics and now these issues.

Juice isn’t worth the squeeze when it comes to a hunting trip.

And if you protect yourself and your property the government shows up and arrests you.  Sad state of affairs.

All said it’s pretty sad state.

Not to be political or anything  but the guys I hunt with all have tactical backgrounds and we could easily defend ourselves while hunting but to @Ozzie_Isaac point to what avail.

The the juice isn’t worth the squeeze.

@bbracey21 - better to be lucky than good right there.  Great score, especially the EH Taylor.
