As long as you don’t care about gas mileage that thing will last 20 years.
Done. Traded my 2013 Highlander. Loved that car but I’ve been lost for several years without a pickup.

I remain pleased with my locally family owned Toyota dealer. I got a fair deal (no such thing as a steal in the recently used full size truck market, everything is expensive) and my loyalty to them was reflected in their trade offer

It’s a thermador pro-harmony cheapest they make, actually. Four burners of equal size (i see variously listed as 15k, 18k, 20k depending on the retailer, for some reason). .the two left burners have extra low simmer (cycling on/off).  The old sales trick was to melt chocolate chips on a paper plate, which it does.

we bought ca 2016/17, and I just priced it  now and it is $800 more. They usually have sales though.

This one does NOT have self-clean, which does kinda suck. But I have had more than one repair guy swear off self clean because of the potential damage to porcelain, gaskets etc. (feels like a bit of that is BS)

Cluny laclanche was not in the cards. Hahaha

    So:
    -four equal burners
    -two extra low
    -no electronics or clocks
    -no self clean

Wife just wanted something super simple, with as much BTU as possible under the code (for a 30” range)

but the cluny looks nice on the grease soaked 1950's blue indoor/outdoor carpeting.  ive burnt out 3 electrics at camp, the origional and two new lowes cheap ones, really getting sick of replaceing buying them. the third ones on its last legs, holes burnt thru the actual top. not a good choice for castiron pans. when i check out the thermador i will bring a piece of the shag kitchen carpet...you know, its gotta match

I'm currently shopping ranges. What made you pick Thermador over, say, Bluestar?

    i mentioned:

-we chose the model where all four burners are equal and max size
(none of this 'small burner in the front left' stuff.  so you can slide any pot anywhere)
    -zero electronics, no touch-pad, etc.

...the specs may have changed, we first bought it in 2016, installed 2017

    Perfect shape for toasting starfish.
Dude that is twisted! Run, Patrick, run

center burner on your new range is really nice. A griddle will work great.

    nola...

someone needs to come out with a center wok burner that goes 25-30k or so.  maybe when that one is on, the two front ones cut off or something (to keep the stove top btus down, depending on local code)

plenty of room on a 30" range for five burners.  but they never seem to get them right

I'd love the massive BTU on a stove that I could afford in my kitchen.  But not for a wok, then I'd have to get a fume hood and floor drain and tile up the walls and 190F water hose to clean up the joint. (or just live like fish) I just go outside and fire up a crawfish burner or something and hope no one calls the fire department ;)

We had thermador for 2 years in a rental. Range and ovens. They were incredible, still miss them.

Nola on weekends the griddle is running for eggs and pancakes, and I’m a sucker for sandwiches made there too. Blackstone would be fun if I had the space and weather for it.

Maybe search for neo-luddism, I think the original luddites just hated those string contraptions.

I was going to make a separate thread, but it's not that important, but since you mentioned it...
Does anyone else have nothing but bad luck with Bic, and other brand, lighters?  It always seemed like mine quit working way too often.  The last time I bought any, I bought three, so I'd be sure to have one at the ready.
Two of them, out of the package, were inoperative; the third one worked.  For two weeks, then it quit.
I now light my Eggs with the rutland squares, and a wooden match (they work every time, and are cheap).  I was using my push-button "GrillTorch" but it blows a lot of sparks and we've been in "Extreme" drought/fire danger conditions all summer.
The Bics and similar have just been not worth the money/frustration to me.

im not sure if mine are really bic, i will check and let you know. at camp im lighting the wood stove and eggs all the time, maybe use two a year. one at the house is years old, its probably the spark lighting the stove. with the egg, the slightest breeze is a problem but pine cones light really fast

That type, I have no problems with (spit-shined my shoes/boots for many years).  It's this style that quit working for me:

Those suck, Botch. I guess you figured that out on your own.  Anymore I mostly use piezio starters on propane torches to start fires.

Local gun store here (in Lafayette) has/had ample 5.56 or .223. No limit. Only restrictions were on 9mm and .22LR. Not that far of a drive from you
