Wow. Been away for a few days and just saw this. He was the first person to comment and welcome me to the forum when I first posted. Loved following his cooks. Prayers to his family. Rest In Peace. From the shores of Lake Michigan. Grand Haven.

I’m saddened by this news. I didn't know Brent but he always commented on my posts with enthusiasm and praise. From all I’ve read on this thread he was an outstanding individual and a great friend.
I’m having my 8th annual sausage making party in a couple weeks and just finished the logo for the T-shirts today.
Normally I just give the shirts away but after reading the intro post I’m going to sell them and collect all the proceeds for a food rescue charity that I support. I’ll post a thread about the night along with money raised and I’ll donate it gladly in his honor.
This forum is is a great outlet and it’s thanks to people like Brent and his friends like all of you. Prayers for his family.LBGE in Elm Grove, WI -

Brent was one of the first to welcome me to the forum...and by reading this thread it seems that was a common theme. I really enjoyed reading his comments, especially his back and forths with the Carolina and Duke basketball guys. It’s weird to feel so upset about a person I’ve never met, yet that shows that he he had such great personality that it could shine through the internet. RIP

My goodness I'm glad nobody bothered me in my cubicle while I read through these 7 pages, I would have been too much of a mess to deal. Never met or interacted with the man but I'm in complete awe of the impact he's had on so many. I'm sorry for your(our) loss.
I can say for certain that I will be thinking about Brent and all of the stories shared here in my interactions with others going forward. I will make an effort smile more and elevate people around me. -
Extremely sorry to read this news and for the loss that all of you who knew Brent closely are feeling. Simply awful. Another buddy of mine just loss a close friend to a fall at home as well. Random. Unexpected. Tragic. Cherish every day.Thank you all for sharing so many fond memories in this thread. I have always enjoyed Brent's contributions here and will continue to mine his posts for great cooks and tips that will live on for many years.LBGE/Maryland

Terribly sad, for all the reasons cited by others. Keeping Brent's family in the light and thinking about all the ways he touched others' lives in ways known and unknown. It's a 302 thing . . .

Been gone for a while, just checked in and saw this.
Truly a tragic loss for @bgebrent 's family and friends. I only had the pleasure of knowing him from the forum, occasional PM, and pictures. Even with that interwebz friendship I feel a great loss, I cannot begin to imagine those who were lucky enough to know him in person.
To his family I offer my sincere condolences. Thank you for sharing Brent with us all these years.Don't tell your problems to people. 80% of people don't care and 20% are glad you have them.

This news is just brutal. Brent had such a huge heart, and such a huge spirit. I am heartbroken.
We used to chat and swap stories off line. (Writing in the past tense feels like a punch to the gut.) We were hashing through some stuff, and he signed off once, "I appreciate you brother." That's all I can think of him right now: he had such a positive view of life, and a kind word for those around him. I can't imagine his family's sorrow.
