I agree completly. But instead of documenting the current conditions, the mobile weather actors create drama and over dramatize so much that people do not know what to really believe...
In Galveston they stand in common low areas as tourist walk by taking photos.
I know media has its place, its just a shame truth is not 1st priority over ratings.

On the other hand, perhaps all the faux drama will actually inspire more folks to actually evacuate which is to everyone's advantage.

Yea, because scaring people, and their families in troubled areas and especially those not, like my parents in MPLS, who think we are already under water is the better just to boost ratings.

Yet... Said the same thing last year with Matthew. About 1 hour later Pow! Transformer for our area and simultaneously two more blew out. And took about 10-13 days to put up new power poles and transformers. Stay safe and well hydrated.

Doesn't look good.  I don't see many options of a good outcome.  All the forecast tracks have it stumbling around in the general vicinity, nothing moving it out quick.

I have seen reports of it leaving and going back out and reforming into another hurricane.

@20stonespice and I snuck up to CO a couple of days ago to put hands on the spawn (who were gathering for the eclipse).  It looks like getting home Sunday is unlikely.  Now I just hope the power stays on so we don't lose our meat collection... a high class problem, for sure. 

I did however, find a new bit of stainless steel to house the curing chamber, should the meat survive.
