Thanks all.  It's nice to have this site and all of you available to vent to.  Sometimes just getting it out is therapeutic enough.  The support here is what few would understand and I appreciate each and every one of you in this small corner of the internet we share. Truly some of the best people I could ever hope to meet.
Just catching up on my reading here. Tuff
times for sure. Thoughts and prayers sent the way of your friend.  Hang tuff!

It seems like every time we put out a Christmas tree our family is plagued with this $hit. My dad, my MIL, this year is her 14 year old cousin. Out of nowhere.

It’s the worst. There are no right words. Just know people here are willing to listen if you need to vent.  Curse of all your close friends and family is sometimes they are too attached to it to be supportive because they are struggling as well.

Only two years late to the party, but I finally cooked up a batch of @SGH 's "Best Appetizer You'll Ever Eat", http://eggheadforum.com/discussion/1190411/the-best-appetizer-that-you-will-ever-eat/p1  ...for an office potluck tomorrow (I plan on frig tonight, cube in the morning, and throw into a crockpot for the office; not ideal, but about the only way I can do it).
    Oh.
    Its.
    Good!

One quick question, though: original recipe called for "one sleeve" of Ritz crackers.  I don't think I've had Ritz crackers since I lived with my folks, and I seem to recall that the "sleeves" went the entire length of the box.  In the box I picked up, the sleeves were mounted "sideways" from what I remember, and only had 8 to 10 crackers per.  That's all I used in the recipe, seems like a smaller amount than what's shown in the pics.  Too many brain cells lost, or was I correct?   :|
    ___________

They call them heated seats ... because rear defroster was already taken.

  • @botch you can still find the vertical sleeves. First of the horizontal I've seen showed up after the wife went shopping a few weeks ago.

Eh, thanks Yolk.  Mine are probably filler-thin, then.  Maybe I should slice the meat thin and lay on top of whole Ritz crackers, then quick-heat in the office microwave?

  • @botch they are the same crackers. They started making packs of 8 instead of 4. That way half a sleeve doesn’t go stale. Same quantity. Same price. Just twice the amount of half sleeves.

I had to buy some for a chili deal a few weeks ago and thought I had made a huge mistake.

Quick late night pizza experiment.  Heated this heavy 1" thick aluminum billet up on the stove, threw the pizza on and put both under the broiler.  Maybe 5" below.  Cooked very quickly and SWMBO loved it.

Was wondering what the hell I was looking at in that first picture.

Laughing at my wife.  Her puppy sat on her lap and the puppies gas/solid separator failed.  A stinky puppy toot left a bit of a skid mark on her favorite PJs.

Reminds me of a story I heard last week.  A friend of mine was driving her toddler to preschool.  After an unexpected blow out, he just started crying.  Through the tears, all he could say was "Mommy, I trusted a fart".

    We've all been there.

PSA: When the wife brings home some leftover fajitas - look at the peppers closely. Don’t assume the cute little pepper in the box is a sweet pepper. It just might be a habenero...

As I have stated before (like a 2 year old) when she gets quiet for a long while, it's time take a look around.  Ms. Bucky finishing up the last of her Christmas craft gifts.

And yes I've tried to get her a new chair, but she says that one is broke in and perfect.
