Not sure how to attach these links so they play here, but we are getting some rain. Rain is interesting when you live in the desert.

We had a 60% chance of rain this afternoon at 1300, and zero from 1400 on.  My truck was fixed at a shop 2 miles away, and at 1330 got tired of waiting and started walking.  The wind was fierce, it was cold (for August) and I knew if it started raining I'd be ducking into one of the fast food joints along the route, to avoid hypothermia.
Got the truck back home, and I need to get my lawn mowed tomorrow morning, as @Battleborn 's rain should be here soon after.
Does LV have concrete arroyos thru the city, to route desert rainstorms?  Albuquerque did, and after every sudden storm they'd find a drowned skateboarder or two south of the city somewhere...

Man, I haven’t seen anything like that since I blessed the rains down in Africa.

    They all need a hobby.
You're just jealous that you didn't even make the cut!
What was the cut based on, it's not likes and agrees.  Maybe promote those that cant do.....did this company sell out😆 we need a recount......maybe it was an electoral count....I smell scam
I have 785 dislikes.  I am amazed I said something so disturbing that 785 unique individuals were so offended and filled with rage that they took time out of their day to hit dislike.  I mean, I have a middle sized highschool class of angry people left in my wake.
How do you know it wasn’t 785 dislikes from a single individual?
Surely no one person would be so enamored with me that they would follow me around disliking my posts?

That was almost the most @Botch story ever.  But alas, it did not rain, so it was merely a well told story.

Love rain in the desert.  And the next day, everything is dry, just lots of sand and debris over the roads.

We do, and not to sound callous, but there will probably be a fair amount of homeless that will wash up when all is said and done. A lot of them build hobo cities in the tunnels. It is supposed to rain throughout the weekend. Maybe our lake will fill up a little more.

There have been sink holes developing all over the city the last couple of weeks, so that’s fun. The humidity after is what kill’s me after not having any the other 360 days of the year.

People think the mob was removed from Vegas, wrong. They note on road construction companies and not casinos.

Threw this bad boy into the dishwasher this morning.  She’s not pretty, but she’ll do!

I’m totally judging you on your choice of kosher salt there.

Always been a Diamond Crystal fan myself. Maybe there should be a “Which Kosher Salt is Best” thread.

Gotcha.   Yeah I’m not sure I realized there were kosher salt factions!

Yes there is.  Diamond Crystal is like the Duke's Mayo.  I have never seen it, but I hear it has lighter flakier crystals which makes it easier to salt to taste with.

My understanding is a teaspoon of DC had las NaCl than a teaspoon of Mortons, so you are less likely to overshoot your intended flavor.

  • Nothing exciting, replacing the dog door flap and respooling the weedeater. We’ll see how ambitious I am after that.

What breed did you get/are you getting? Was this your initiative?

My family asks for a puppy weekly, so I’m pretty much a constant stream of disappointment to them.

He was found as a stray so we don’t know the exact breed.  The foster owner seemed to think he might be part McNab, and that seems to fit.  I put some pics in the pets thread if you want to check him out.

Our oldest has been begging us to get a dog for years.  I never had a dog growing up (though my wife did) and a major factor for us was the girls’ willingness to embrace most of the responsibility for taking care of him.  It was very helpful that we had him with us for a couple of days before making a final decision so that we could all get some sense of what we were getting ourselves into.

It may shock you to know, but my father never let me. 🙃

We had a Boston terrier from about 2007 or 2008 until 2014 or so, but he had a rare neurological disorder and we ultimately had to put him down at seven years old.
