    @WeberWho - How far off was the GPS that put you in that spot?

    @lousubcap

    Here is a very crude map of what my GPS was showing.

    I picked up the receiver in St. Paul. It was an old tight neighborhood with house on top of each other. I missed the alley when driving by it the first time. The GPS redirected me past where his house actually was and sent me back to the alley. The map was showing a house in the alley and the only way to it was through the alley. I thought I'd see the driveway when crawling down the hill/alley.

    The homeowner says certain GPS maps will put his house down in the alley. He doesn't know why. (I wish he would have mentioned something beforehand) It sounds like I'm not the only one who's ended up at the bottom of the hill.

    You're too nice. That's a great point! I wish I had a shovel with me. That definitely would have helped!

    Oh yes there is!  I know I've seen a you tube video of someone exiting the vehicle during such an event!  I think their own car almost ran them over.

    a few years ago pulling a trailer  at about 45 mph my transfer case locked up for a second, spun the truck and trailer 180 degrees just missing a logging truck coming the other way. a few seconds later the truck spun back front forward, there was time to wave to the guy behind me. took a few months to find out it was the transfer case that locked temporarily. if anybody flinched it would have been bad. for a few moments everything went silent, when my hearing came back my passenger was still screaming in fear

    Hahaha! That pretty much sums it up. My GPS showed the random box of a house on the map where I needed to go and the only entrance it showed was the alley. I should have walked it but I also thought this house would have a driveway so I wouldn't have to go all the way down the hill. No such house or driveway.

    Way to push back.  It's the "normal" or "always been that way mentality" that is the norm these days.  We continue to devolve as a society.  The LCD is rampant-lowest common denominator.

    Inspecting the progress on a pool repair.  Company swore it was normal, I requested they tear into it to check plumbing.  Turns out I was right and water seeping through the stucco wasn't normal.  Plumbing is leaking

    Seems to me what  is “normal” is the frequency they have to use that to cover their failures.  Leaking through the stucco in a desert is not ever normal.

    I don’t think strolling the frozen food aisle at the grocery store counts, Oz.

    Thinking along the same line. Dumb question, even without freezing, does it not somehow expand/contract in the heat and stresses the pipes?

    I would be worried that would freeze and bust @Ozzie_Isaac if it’s a pressurized supply line if it’s a drain I wouldn’t.
