Mardi Gras they were up to $7/lb.  I picked them up last weekend for $2.89/lb from Rouses.  They were as good as they get, perfect size, alive, no weird chemical odors (you would be surprised how this is a problem).   I usually hold out for below $2.50 but inflation and all that.

Given all the oil/chemical related industries/events in that region and living at the outfall of the Mississippi River (aka Americas Toilet) I'm surprised that anything wouldn't normally have chemical odors.

Over half the crawfish sold come out of freshly pumped and irrigated rice fields. Some
do come from the Atchafalaya Basin.

@nolaegghead I wish they were that cheap here! I think the lowest I got was $2.60 per lb last year.

$2.50/lb.  Surely you jest.  ~$9.99/lb plus overnight shipping fee which adds like $50.  (10lb minimum)

    Yup, happy happy Southwest US.
And yet, somehow we can raise brine shrimp ("sea monkeys" for you ancient comic book guys like me) here in the Great Salt Lake (at least for a couple more years), harvest them, fly them over a hemisphere to be fed to "real" shrimp in Thailand, freeze them (the real ones), and fly them back to our grocers, to be sold for less $$/pound than beef, pork, chicken or eggs (depending on the Shortage dù Jour).
This inexpensive shrimp is never reflected on restaurant menu prices here in the US, due to completely different reasons for another thread.  Sigh.

Pool saga continues.  They fixed a few internal leaks, but still had an issue with how the sheer was mounted, so they have removed it completely and tore even further into the situation.  What is the Lesson Learned?  Wait for plumbers to install water features.  Masons are not plumbers.  Thankfully, all other water features and plumbing was done by qualified individuals.

That wall is well above the water line.  It is also not a part of the monolithic single pour that the majority of the pool is.  It is built on top of it.

Kind of sad.  Making jokes in mtgs is no longer fun.  People feel obligated to laugh.  Gives me a false sense of being funny.

We had a similar design.  The cold joint between the two walls resulted in tiles popping off 10 years later.  Good fun.

Ours was poured, but it looks like yours is block so that may not be an issue.  We couldn't find the same tile after so many years.  I would put an extra box or two of tile away for the inevitable if I was going to build a pool again.
    Love you bro!

I have two extra boxes of tile.  I may order another though, just to be safe.

Btw, thank you for a new thing to worry about at 2am.

Very easily.  Forget your 1/4 turn.  Don't push it in all the way and hold it, incomplete coverage with bonding agent, foreign object debris, damaged surface area, forgot to remove flashing, etc.

Maybe too soon to ask this @nolaegghead

Seems he's had a bit too much time to dwell on this while he stares at his torn up wall and has contractors back in there while now under the even more watchful eye of Oz.

My gut tells me that you and I would get along great in corporate meetings.  It is always fun when only you and one or two other people are able to communicate inside jokes while the other 10 are oblivious.

    I knew what I was in for going in. . . .

I had to get an oil change on our 2015 Yukon.  We have a long-ish trip this weekend. Mileage and oil life indicator proved that a change would be necessary prior to departure.  I went to an instant oil change place.  Usually I end up at a trusted mechanic or the dealer as by oil change time, there is ALWAYS something else that I want fixed or changed and they just do the oil change at the same time.

    I went in.
I read them the specification of oil from my manual.
I asked them how much for an oil change with said product.  (I think 0w-20 full syn)
    They say $80
I say fine but I just entered your text promotion to save $7.
They say they will take it off the bill.
Second technician removes air filter to show me a filter with 10% coverage of dust/dirt.
    I say pass.
    Oil change done.
    Sir your total is $116.34
    ?????????????????
Sir the 80 dollars was for 5 quarts - your vehicle takes 8.
Yep and you had the vehicle right here when you quoted me the $80
    well sometimes they take more
nope - capacity is capacity.  I could forgive a +/- a quart at best.
You need to manage customer expectations.
Tell me it will not exceed $100 and charge me $95 maybe.
I left paying something like $96.

I don't really care - just what the heck - I know the game - next stop - used car sales.
