@Acn - your FIL is quite a craftsman.  Impressive feeder.

I bet it’s a toss up between that and anus for @SGH.   If only there were some means to both lay pipe and do anus at the same time…

Just for fun, first time cold smoking salt and pulled pork rub, no idea what to expect...

    Pizza tonight...

I've done the salt, misting it with water helps during the smoke  the big thing though is sealing the storage container so the smoke doesn't dissapate. Think bloody marys

Thinking I should get my IFR rating. Second weekend in a row the weather will not allow me to fly to Memphis.

Thanks fish, wish I read your comment earlier. After hours I still hardly smell or taste the smoke on them. I suppose the mist helps the smoke to stick? Anyway, I just misted the salt, and the rub too for good measure. If it works out I'll chamber seal them in small pouches.

If you haven’t heard him before, check out a Canadian musician by the name of David Wilcox. His song “Layin’ Pipe” is an anthem of sorts.

Works best with the wet grey french salt but misting still helps.  You can still hit again in the morning. Lots of smoke

  • Slid a home grown 14lb brisky on the egg last night approximately 2am... its hovering at 181. Awesome. Banquet is at 6:30.
That will be a long hold but it can be done.

Preparing for the night. It’s all hands on deck for NYE. Every active cop is working. I get the joy of spending 10-12 hours on The Strip. Weather forecast is rain and wind from 10 P.M. until 3 A.M.

Stay healthy and safe out there. Thank you to all who are ensuring the revelers have a chance against the potential mayhem.

  • Went by the grocery store. Back at home and don’t plan to leave before tomorrow noon. Already seen multiple wrecks and the weather is foggy and misty.

A reminder to everyone to be careful out there tonight.  A ride in an ambulance is no way to start out the New Year.
