Just completed a test run of the outdoor attire since the Xmas dinner got audibled a few days ago to the 24th.  Prepped the L&S BGE's along with the drum smoker during Wednesday's heat wave.  All open fine and no issues with the ceramic caps.  Fire and forget tomorrow-monitor from indoors.  Do have to transport the output so I have to pace the adult supervisory beverages.  All good and good fun!
I figured it out.  Your posts are like a briefing/after action report.  You convey pages of info in very direct succinct style.

Good luck with the cooks, and glad you can monitor from indoors.

Don't tell your problems to people.  80% of people don't care and 20% are glad you have them.

And here I thought perhaps we’d see the Santa Maria get another workout. No question that the eats will be superb, regardless of the vehicle to get them there. I look forward to you showing your work.

No effin way I would live in Asheville with all the hippies but I get why you would want to be there @JohnInCarolina.  I would take a spot over looking the New River or the Boone area.
Who gives a sh!t about the hippies?

    WTF?

  • The wife has been on a deep clean mission of the house today. All so that we can have 12-14 people over tomorrow to drop food and spill drinks everywhere. Whatever 😂

I need this day to be over. Kubota RTV stopped working. No fuel being delivered to injection pump.  Heated it up in garage and cleaned fuel filter, bled fuel system.... Back in action.

My sewage pump in my house... The one I just put in was stuck on..... Float stuck.  Got that working again.

Other plow vehicle... No heat all of a sudden.

Starting to get feeling back in my fingers.
    Warming by fire.

Contemplating wether or not to go hunting in the morning. It will be 10 degrees or so. This is extremely cold for Alabama. It is prime hunting right now and I do have a heater.

@ColtsFan - As my astute son says, nothing will ever be clean enough unless (not his words) SWMBO is the last one to clean it.  Nailed it!
    Good luck-
Enjoy the upcoming evening.  Teaser pics look great.

@GrateEggspectations - Great finish on that steak.  Pomme Frites look exceptional as well.  I'll pass on the greens!
    Merry Christmas-

Thank you, Frank! I promise that if you tried the greens, you would not pass. I can’t take one iota of credit, as wifey put this together, but it’s a kale salad with an Asian dressing that must be tasted to be believed.

Happy Festivus, friends. Today is the day, and I’m enjoying the episode (season 9, episode 10) with nice steak dinner and wine. Up next: feats of strength!

  • There are two things that have become a Christmas Eve tradition for me. Watching Seinfeld’ “The Strike” episode and National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation. Have them both on DVR and don’t watch until Christmas Eve once the kiddos are in bed. Usually have them on while putting up & putting out toys / gifts - which is about 24 hrs from now.

  • @Stormbringer - do you happen to have a recipe on your site for that braise?  I've found one that I like quite a bit, but would be interested to see your approach.

Just watched a city dweller, I just bought a house in Maine, load a fire pit with freshly fallen pitch filled broken pine boughs eight feet high next to his house........WE still have 30 miles gusts off the lake. Didn't take a minute after lighting for panic to set in
