Yikes!  I lived in SD/IA for 20+ years, never saw it get near that cold.
I did see windchill hit -85˚F one day, but that was up in Grand Forks (where no one should live).

From this morning. My 16yr old son was able to take this one. It’s only his 3rd buck and definitely his biggest. Bigger than anything I’ve ever taken also. So proud and happy for him. Great day! Weighed right at 200.
Looks like he’s had a little too much to drink, congrats to your son

won’t a traeger with the thin walls struggle to maintain heat?

It will just burn a handful more pellets.
  • Just had a two hour long storm meeting. As much as you plan ahead we really don’t know what to expect. Managing the possibility of 10s of thousands members without power is the biggest issue when it’s going to be so cold. Little bit different situation than during tornado season. People can survive in those temps.

Hopefully it’s all fluff and won’t amount to much.

Since our campground is open right now with over 40 units currently on site.... I'm a little nervous. Not knowing what I'll have to deal with....

Hopefully just plowing and shoveling. There is potential for downed trees, water system issues, etc.  The flakes have just started falling. Beautiful gentle Christmas flakes.

What @pgprescott said, not worried about higher pellet consumption since I don't use over priced so called food grade pellets infused with scented flavoured oil (this can trigger a whole new discussion). I also cover it with a welding blanket to reduce heat loss and help heat recovery after opening the lid.

They are absolutely essential.  The most essential, essentially essential oils.  I think there might be a marketing opportunity there.

That’s a good one. I have always has good luck with Nosler bullets. I have shot 180 grain Partitions and 150 grain ballistic tips in my alt 6 for decades. Never been disappointed.
