I built this table around 10 years ago.  It survived being outside and getting sun and rain on the edge of a covered porch.  The finish is failing and there are some cracks and charred wood that I'll repair before refinishing with spar varnish. 

Thought I'd put in some bling, so I burned some designs into the wood.  Unfortunately the epoxy I previously put in the pecky cypress holes doesn't blast as well as the wood with the laser, so I used a rotary grinder to help it out in places and the robot design had a flaw.  Anyway, painted the bas relief and filled in the cavities with epoxy.  I'll plane that down before I refinish.

I need to cut some cracks wider before filling with epoxy but other than the char, it is getting there.

That is very interesting, netting around $15/swimmer too.  That article was full of a lot of other tidbits too.  Not the wealth building dream and more of a job than a side hustle.  I think I like my weekends too much for something like this.

Hmmmm, I have the parking space and no neighbors.  That would be a nice way to supplement some income.  Plus, I could use the Augusta rule and rent it tax free for up to 14 days per year.

this is a family house most of the year. he leaves on vacation and it takes three days to set up, have the wedding, and break it all down. ive only seen weddings here, maybe 4-6 a year, his site says room rentals etc but ive never seen it happen. house is about ten properties south of me, i dont make the cut, he has never stopped over.....

Listening to the local news, thought of the dog days of summer and offer the following regarding the "dog days of summer" as the news is pablum (and that's a good thing):

"The “Dog Days” of summer are from July 3 to August 11 each year. They’re usually the hottest and most unbearable days of the season. We often hear about the “Dog Days” of summer, but few know where the expression originated. Some think it’s a reference to the hot, sultry days that are “not fit for a dog.” Others suggest it’s the time of year when the extreme heat drives dogs mad. But where does the term come from? The “Dog Days” Expression Explained

The constellation Canis Major, the Greater Dog.

The phrase is a reference to Sirius, the Dog Star. During the “Dog Days” period, the Sun occupies the same region of the sky as Sirius, the brightest star visible from any part of Earth. Sirius is a part of the constellation Canis Major, the Greater Dog.

In the summer, Sirius rises and sets with the Sun. My in-laws took my kids to their last softball game so wife and I could have a little us time. I drove their jeep wrangler back so that they could use the kid hauler. I forgot about the dang jeep wave. Give it a rest people. 3 miles of driving and I encountered at least 3 million other wranglers.  It's a 6 speed so I'm rowing the gears... can't wave.  Won't wave.

Evaluating a tenure case for a colleague at another institution.  I do about 3-4 of these a year.

I typically only evaluate faculty from R1 institutions, so I tend to focus on their research accomplishments and their independence from their doctoral and post-doctoral advisors.

I'm quite sure an R1 institution is like a D1 (ACC-nod) in college sports but at the PhD playing field level.  
And since I'm here, given I'm quite sure other professors are also involved in the evaluation what is your ballpark "Yes" assessment percentage and the minimum overall approval outcome (unanimous??) if such is allowed to be shared?

I would guess you discuss with the other evaluators??  
BTW- I'm not asking to improve my odds in this endeavor.
