Mowing grass.. what a time suck. What is the point it just grows back, relentlessly, hours of my summer going back and forth back and forth and only to do it again 5 days later and now it costs $30 in gas per cut. I look forward to weed eating, at least your walking around. My bil mows his 7 acres or so twice a week, I don’t get it.

@JohnInCarolina when I lived in NC I would go to nascar races with some friends and quickly learned the closer you are to the track the longer it’s going to take to get out when your ready to go home.South of Columbus, Ohio.

fukahwee maineyou can lead a fish to water but you can not make him drink it -
My wife's center console ripped apart.
I needed some slack with the emergency brake as I need to remove the caliber as I tore a boot last night when doing rear brakes.
I even managed to burn the center console lid with the work light. It keeps getting better and better. Fun times!

It has to be on the road early tomorrow morning. It's one thing where I could take my time but full steam ahead. I could buy a rebuild kit for the calipers for $20 but I'm going to spend $150 on whole new calipers and not worry about it. I'm at that point.
At 9:30 last night I told my wife that the left rear brake job went way too good and that something on the rear right has to go wrong. It's just my luck. Boy did I nail that on the head. A couple hour brake job is going to turn into an 8+ hour brake job."The pig is an amazing animal. You feed a pig an apple and it makes bacon. Let's see Michael Phelps do that" - Jim Gaffigan

Trying to figure out something for dinner. 15 year anniversary tonight, so it should probably be a good one. Maybe I’ll go check out the cheffing thread to see if there is anything I can actually cook.Las Vegas, NV

No doubt it would be duct tape in my truck. That might even be considered an upgrade.
My wife just said, "We will just replace it". It didn't even phase her. I hope she meant arm rest and not vehicle....."The pig is an amazing animal. You feed a pig an apple and it makes bacon. Let's see Michael Phelps do that" - Jim Gaffigan

My kid just came home from his last day of school for the year and asked when I get off work for the summer. Good thing he has a few more years to prepare for adult life.

My egging neighbor and his wife are in Kentucky for their grandson's high school graduation. I am taking care of their boxer; feeding, playing with him, letting him out, and cleaning up after he is done in the yard.
Saw water coming out of the ground by their laundry room/tool room while the boxer was inspecting his lawn. The area has loose stones over weed mat on top of Florida sand so I pulled the weed mat and stones back. Dug down by hand to find the water leak. There were two irrigation lines side by side next to the house concrete foundation. The leak was in the pipe furthest from the house wall. Turned off the irrigation system and let the water drain thru the sand.
Neighbor had a piece of 3/4" PVC pipe but no couplings for 3/4".
So off to ACE to get some couplings, PVC glue, and cleaner. Pipe fixed.
Old thin wall PVC irrigation system. Think someone with a trowel might have done this damage.
Ran the zone for that pipe before covering it up; no leak in the repair. Yes, I looked. That is cool deck the neighbors just had put around the pool.
New
Old deck and the boxer.
All back together.

Thank you @GrateEggspectations for your kind words. If you want good neighbors, be a good neighbor. He helped me install all of my impact windows and has helped me in other ways. Got a phone call yesterday from an older, widowed neighbor who couldn't get her garage door down after a new cleaning lady had worked at her home. Turned out to be an easy fix, the gal had put something in the garage and pushed the LED sender out of alignment. Come when called on. Let me know when you start on the second floor. I'll come and help ... for room and board; especially having seen photos of some of the things you cook!Ubi panis, ibi patria.

@SamIAm2 said:If you want good neighbors, be a good neighbor. So true. Words we try to live by. We actually had a major storm roll through here Saturday. Haven’t had power since then. Many with property damage and there have also been some fatalities. Lots of mature trees downed - some uprooted. In the aftermath of the storm, we checked on the four neighbourhood properties whose owners we knew were away and updated them. Reported bad news to some (photos below). Have helped neighbors cut damaged branches with a manual pole saw, have offered use of our (borrowed) generator and shower, have stored items in our freezer and have watched their children. We have also received help (coffee! 🙂) and also had my daughter spend an hour in our elderly neighbours’ yard last night as we caught our breath and enjoyed a drink on the deck. Community truly matters!
A special thanks to @nolaegghead for some much needed generator advice. You are generous in all kinds of ways.enjoye -

@GrateEggspectations and @SamIAm2 - definitely demonstrating the good neighbour (nod) right there. Speaks extremely well for those who think the world is collapsing. Local concern and reach out become the glue to a civil society.
May we never lose it.
Stay healthy and safe out there-Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. # 38 for the win. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Seems I'm livin in a transitional period. -
