A few weeks back we had highs in the 40's. This past week or so we've had 7 consecutive days of 90+ degrees here in MN with record humidity. I believe we average 12 days a year with 90+ degrees. We have to be close if not over our average already. Not very much fun being outdoors right now.

@JohnInCarolina - I may be old and slow but that looks like fronting a swimming pool.  Somewhere in the distance could be a beach... B)
    Enjoy the escape.

Ran out very nice, 69 mph. Hard to catch a fish going that fast, but it works!

I guess you hope for a long spring and fall.

I personally like the four seasons we get. Winters can get a little long and cold. I guess it makes you appreciate the other three seasons a little bit more.

I showed out a little today at the all you can eat catfish and crab claws. The jalapeño and cheese hush puppies was as good as the catfish and crab claws.

You had me at catfish.  Nice eats!

@fishlessman I saw you have old posts about this dish/cookware. Opinions?

mostly use it for mussels with portuguese chourico, garlic, tomatoes, splash of wine. no stirring, just flip it over and go. can be used on a campfire for fish stews etc. theres this urge to keep it looking like a shiney penny, dont fall into that trap. if you want it shiny, buy two and hang one. its pretty handy for camping and over a beach fire

Was doing some shop organization yesterday when I heard a loud "bang!" as I was moving stuff around with the forklift.  I knew what it was and was expecting it eventually, like cranking a jack-in-the-box.

Today they are predicting 95 degrees here. We are under the first heat advisory of the year today. Luckily the humidity is only 69 percent at the moment. But I am sure that will change quick.

Normally we would of had these temps several weeks ago.

sent my temp probe down the water column this weekend, 55 degrees was hanging around 35 feet, normally its only 20 feet down this time of year. things are warming up fast. dont have a good feeling about the fishery this year (maybe the next few decades), yelled at a biologist yesterday for longer than he wanted to hear it, they really screwed up over the last few years and they have no idea how to fix it

I was giving the forklift a tuneup a month or two ago and discovered the plugs had seized on the head when I tried replacing them.  Removed two before realizing it's probably all four will be the same.  Replaced the two I removed and the threads mostly stripped.  Needed to re-thread them.

Yesterday cylinder number two shot out the plug like a bullet, right up my ass (fortunately the engine hood and seat were there).  Found the plug on the ground and the wires in the engine compartment.

Got a re-thread kit.  Had to make my own tools to install as the plug is way recessed.  Anyway, perfect fix, back up and running.  Need to do the other three, will order more helicoil inserts.
