    2021 Suzuki DRZ 400S

One of the original Dual Sport bikes equally comfortable on road or trail. Unchanged in 20 years of production and excellent reliability/maintenance intervals. Lots of power and torque at low revs, basically a 2 wheel tractor.

I've been on bikes many times, but never owned one or took the rider safety course to get the license. No desire to get a heavy street only bike, its just not me. And true dirt bikes are higher performance/require more maintenance than the dual sport engines. I am poster child for the category.

Been thinking/researching for a few years. Between myself/friends/family I have access to a couple hundred acres, and within 90 minutes are several nice big off road trail networks. I've already got a utility trailer that I can use to haul to the farm/trailhead.

I'll start on the farm learning the basics and if I like it will start planning a 10 day trip to ride some of the Continental Divide Trail.......that would give me an excuse to get a Honda Africa Twin or a BMW R1250 GSA

    Brilliant line, and absolutely true.

I had the most ski days ever this year, and bruised some rib cartilage in a high speed fall late in the season.

A12ish year old kid appears out of nowhere and cuts me off on a wide open blue and it was either bail out in a "controlled" crash or vaporize the kid as I was clipping along at 35mph and at 6'4" 260lbs I am a lot of human flesh.

I slept in a crazy position for a month and laughing hurt, but I kept on skiing (because I was lucky I didn't jack up my back or knees). But it was worth it.

Oh, and in a couple of weeks I'll be downhill mountain biking at Trestle Bike Park in Winter Park, CO. Even with the body armor that comes with the rental bike I always manage to eat it and hurt something, but I can't wait.

Several of you have posted about your noodle-making efforts.  I ran across this video of two Asian Masters, who each specialized in one type of noodle.  Very enjoyable and mesmerizing to watch.

What am I doing? Not much.

A house here burned to the ground this afternoon after a propane tank in the sun exploded (I didn't know that was possible, and we were ten degrees* cooler than you).  Word to the wise....

*EDIT:  Nine degrees.  We set an all-time High record for today, and an all-time for the month of June.  Screw the neighbors, I'm mowing the lawn at 0600 tomorrow.

A lawn seems like a real waste of time and water, at 115°, or 105° in your case.

@henapple idiotically elected to forgo the general anesthesia and told me of the "deep" regrets ensuing.
