    Riding an emotional roller coaster the past 3 days..
    Me and lady friend supposed to be going on vacation but due to the covid BS ..one minute it's on, next its off, then back on.

    Mom had to have surgery for an acute on chronic problem ..everything is good now. Waiting for test results. She comes home tomorrow.

    Wound up getting some damage with the tornadoes that came through. Missed a direct hit by 75 yards..neighbors weren't so lucky..but everyone in our area is ok..

    Now back to not sure about vaction... trying to meet with insurance company and electrician tomorrow...and realistically I need to be an adult and stay around the house...2-3 buddies are encouraging me to go..that stuff will be there when I get back....but if I do that... I'm not sure when I would have time otherwise to clean up and get things done.....

    And as of tomorrow I'm 98 hours in for the week..

    Being an adult sucks..I remember thinking these are all things my parents had to worry about...and everything just magically happened....I could use  some good voodoo

    Silver linings...duck chicken and bees had a front seat ride of the tornado and came through unscathed

    Ohh..and the transmission in my gf's car likely went out today...had to be towed to the shop

    Joy of joys, four PL games in total this weekend.  The absence of match action means I can hit my average word count by describing in great detail the relative merits of both the Dukes and Kookaburra cricket balls.  Just six weeks until the hypothetical start to the English domestic championship, try to contain your excitement.

    Tonight;

    Fulham v Leeds, the hosts can just scent safety and a win is possible against the lacklustre Leeds who haven’t scored in three matches. Seven goals shared last time they met, that won’t happen again.  1-0 to heap pressure on Newcastle and Brighton.  Speaking of which…..

    Saturday;

    Brighton v Newcastle, vying for the spot just above the relegation trap door these two teams both need points. Newcastle remain without their attacking talent, all being injured.  Infuriatingly the filthy Seagulls took all three points at Southampton last week.  Strong chance they will do the same here and further erode prospects of relegation, which is irksome. 1-0 and Toon tumble in to the mire.

    Stoke host Derby in a largely academic exercise of completing fixtures.  The Potters look well out of the promotion race now and the Rams are close to safety despite poor recent form.  1-1, I suppose?

    Sunday;

    West Ham v Arsenal, a Hammers win puts pressure on the likes of Liverpool & Chelsea on the run-in to Champions League spots.  The Gunners have progressed in Europe and will want to do little more than save face in the league - it’s been a weird one for Arteta. 2-1

    Villa v Spurs,  Jose’s men got dumped out of Europe, insurrection and recriminations abound.  But it’s just Spurs so no-one cares nor surprised.  Either a new manager or several new players will be on display at the start of next season.  Villa have lost their way without Grealish.  And this match competes a quartet of dismal PL encounters. 0-0.

    Oh, there’s some FA Cup matches on too, but frankly I’d rather look through Craigslist for pre-owned Webers than waste your time on them.

    Other girls may try to take me away

    @DuckDogDr, it sounds like maybe a mini staycation might be in order?  Good luck with whatever you decide.  I just hope you don't fall into the trap that often catches me... canceling something fun to accomplish something that has to get done (but isn't fun), then not actually accomplishing that task.

    1) Thanks for this as always.  I look forward to it every Friday (like you needed pressure...)
    2) I can't believe that I glanced at the Europa scores (looking for the Man U score) and didn't notice the Tottenham collapse.  Who would have though that having your manager jailed for fraud is the key to having a team overcome a 2-0 deficit in a big series?
    3) As per usual, I will selectively quibble with one of your predictions.  (Historically this means that there is a 75% chance your prediction will be closer to the outcome than mine.)  I'm thinking that Jose has not taken the Spurs collapse lightly and there will be some newly lit fires under some Tottenham arses such that they'll play with some ferocity against Aston Villa.  Officially I'll predict a 2-0 Tottenham victory, but I think 3-0 or 3-1 is just as likely.

    This bike hasn't seen the road in the last 5-6 years. I'm not sure how much longer my Dad is going to keep riding. He's offered to sell me his bike the last few years and give him whatever I get for mine. (Same make and model but newer, fuel injected, and low miles) I just can't do it. I'm attached to this one. So my plan is to pull the carburetor and start there. I'm hoping to get some riding in with him this summer. My hope anyway....

    And you got a flag, too!  We really have bonded.

     FWIW I did mull that about Spurs, but I feel they just don’t have the spark. And Son is still injured.

    Respected football philosophers will argue that 0-0 is the perfect score. But they are wear roll neck jumpers and smell funny. Jose agrees with me and proposes 1-0 is the perfect score because of his big massive ego.  But then Spurs are a bit Spursy most of the time and can’t sustain the zero bit.

    Now flag me up you big brave keyboard botherers.

    I am taken by the black text in the top right. Does it continue “... did my life change direction so much that this is the best thing about Fridays?  Notwithstanding the premier league predictions on the off topic thread. I love them they are great and funny.”

    After crawling around in the crawlspace looking for a water leak, I decided to call the rural water company. Culvert construction up the road and the f'ers dug up the main water line..lol..So much for locates, huh.
    At least I now know my lack of water pressure isn't me

     Been fighting with city about the $200 water bills I've been getting for the shop.  Might flush the toilet a few times a month.  Something is screwed up.

    Check your neighboring buildings stealing utilities. Happens constantly in close quarter industrial. Could also be something simple like y’all share a meter and you didn’t know about it.

    My state is down to 16. They are trying to vaccinate faster than variants can move in.

    Quick question.... After installing a Rutland, dome only and a few days ago, is there any need to do an initial burn off? Or just light it up and get to cooking? I have a brisket that needs some smoke, just wondering if I need to do an initial empty burn 1st.
