over the weekend, seems fall hit hard and fast
I agree. It got down to 91 yesterday. We was shocked that fall came so early this year. We don’t usually see those kind of low temps until mid to late November.

a week ago i launched the boat in 30 degree weather, back in the upper 70's this weekend. pulling the veggie garden out this weekend, its time to do some canning

Just got kicked out of the Big Red Bus.  I must’ve missed this question on previous visits:

“Have you EVER even ONCE since 2015 been to a BBQ cookout in Salisbury, NC?“

I’ve committed to “Sober October” this year, glad to hear it may be worth the effort. Congrats on feeling better.

I did a month off a little while back.  Might hit it up again after a friend visits this weekend.

Right now just as basic as I can get. I'm using mom's old camera and a tripod with remote shutter to practice techniques and get used to using lightroom.

I haven't committed to a system yet..I have my heart set on the fujifilm x-t4,  it's pretty simple to change settings..and the color science is amazing..

But my buddy at work and one of the dive shops is trying to talk me into the sony a6500..overall cost for housing is much more affordable and I can borrow lenses ....

I plan on purchasing a telescope and stacking software once I've commit to either fuji or sony

Hopefully not. When my first Boxer was a pup I came back after a 4 hour errand and found her walking on 3 legs with the 4th paw swollen . The emergency veterinarian found fire ants in between her toes. Whe we got home she went in the backyard, backed up to the fire ant bed and pissed all over it.
Anyhow a lot of the time snakes give dry warning bites. I hope that was the case for your dog.

Then used the airbrush to experiment with this reactive paint.  It is copper and actually will patina.  Bought some copper sulfate to accelerate the patina.  Just testing on some incense burner I picked up second hand for a few dollars.  The end game is painting some pressed tin ceiling I bought for the spare bedroom/office.

Thank you!  Luckily he is a big boned Aussie, about 10lbs bigger than his brothers.  Vet had antivenin on hand and administered quick.  His blood panel was not horrible, but was showing some effects on clotting and stuff.  He is home now with a lot of meds.  I will take him back tomorrow for another blood panel to see how he is doing.  The swelling so far is minor, hopefully it stays that way.

He usually avoids rattlesnakes, he wants nothing to do with them.  This was a baby snake right in the middle of a dirt path hidden in the powdery dust.  There were just two little girls playing right by too.  Thankful it didn't get one of them.

Brother I say this from the bottom of my good, God fearing, Christian heart. Congratulations and hang in there buddy. Rather you like it or not some of us care about you and are praying for.
Thanks, Scottie.  Dr said if I didn't quit I would lose my family, friends, job and die within a year.  Then he looked at my blood test results and said I could bottle it and sell as cask strength.
I was in the exact same boat. That was 13 years ago. Best decision I've ever made. Keep it up!

@SGH My friend you have inspired me. I’ve rolled the idea around of building just such a pit. I admire your dedication to cooking fine food in the most primitive way. You are the only soul on the planet I would trust to cook rectum in a way that I would consider eating it.
Please tell me you will serve it in a corn tortilla you ground on a stone metate and cooked yourself.

If you decide to dig a pit, go ahead and save yourself a lot of future trouble and brick it. Trust me on this one. The traditional “dirt pit” is for younger folks who do not have a bad back and knees.

Some of you folks laughed at my brisket cook in a hole a while back. Well I have bricked it out and been firing the mortar all day. Let’s see who is laughing tomorrow when I pull 10 pounds of smoked rectum out of my hole tomorrow 👍
