    Resurrected our Instant Pot, thanks to YouTube.  No problem with power supply and controls/display but no heat.

    Does Canada have issues with right to repair laws?  I know Insta Pot repair si not an issue, buy it did make me wonder if our northern brothers have the same battle with large corporations removing owner's abilities to repair, maintain, and modify things they purchase.

    Woke up to a missing poplar today. 85 foot tree, fence and damson tree are the only casualties. 4.5 fuel fills on the chain saw later, and a big fire, making progress but had enough now.

    Seconds out, round 3.  After a week when we have been told to simultaneously stay at home and go back to work, and,  in order to confirm BREXIT, Kent - the garden of England, has been ceded to Europe, its reassuring the football still happens.     In the PL it’s too soon for patterns to emerge and squads remain in flux until the transfer window closes a week on Monday. If you want to start your own team then now’s the time as Chelsea have most of a decent team in the shop window.

    Saturday;

    Brighton v Man Utd,  Ole’s men didn’t fire against Palace and while a similar performance is unlikely, the filthy Seagulls will scent blood.  1-1

    Palace v Everton,  both 2 from 2 and playing with uncustomary flair & abandon, which is in stark relief against this being the lowest scoring fixture in PL history with 0.8 goals per game.   2-2

    West Brom v Chelsea, relegation fodder team A host Super Frank’s revolving cast of expensive players. 0-2 and the shape of things to come for the Baggies, not much Boing Boing this season lads (Google it)

    Burnley v Southampton,  the host will play to type and make this tough for Saints who have done a 180 on how they finished last season.  2-1

    In the championship; Stoke v PNE,  that’s not Papua New Guinea nor a nuclear physics abbreviation but Preston North  End.  What role the compass point plays in the team name is unclear.  More important is that @Eoin Potters had better shape-up, as ONJ sang to JT in G. And they will, 2-0.

    Sunday;

    Sheff U v Leeds; a Yorkshire derby and it would have been a lot of fun had our white rose chums been allowed to gather.  Sadly a sterile atmosphere but the football should be slick.  Leeds are specialising in 7 goal thrillers this season and a tough test this.  2-1

    Spurs v Newcastle, Jose will welcome the Toon in their clown car and then see them off with a dour 2-0.

    Man City v Leicester, outside of Pep’s struggles this should be a normal service type victory for the Mancs. 3-1

    West Ham v Wolves, the calamity contenders will struggle to contain Nuno’s oiled up ballers. Could be the start of grim decline for perennially grim Moyes. 0-2 at a canter.

    Monday

    Fulham v Villa,  relegation fodder team B host the escapologist from last season.  Could be a stinker, might be fun. 1-1

    Liverpool v Arsenal,  Klopp is slowly refreshing the team to stave off the inevitable decline.  The team don’t quite feel the same this time and the Gunners are tipped for a good season.  Could be a tight multi-goal game. 3-2.

    That’s all from me, SWMBO is away this weekend and suffice to say ‘the list’ leaves little room for doubt or boredom.

    Go home, Chelsea, you are drunk.

    You guessed it.  My wife bought them for me a few yrs ago for Christmas. The blades hold a decent edge but the handle leave a lil to be desired. 3 out of the 4 have cracks in them.

    TBH I’m not sure about any laws or paid attention. Usually ignore must be serviced by authorized service centre clause, like warning on MickyD coffee cup. Most of the time, I know my limits  :)

    This is what I always assume though, not sure if it’s true... unlicensed homeowners can do plumbing and electrical works in their own home but not for others, for insurance purposes.  So if I install an electrical outlet for @Botch ‘s bidet and it bites him in the a$$ he’d be left hung out to dry  =)

    @bucky925 at my level of pic skills those are great shots deserving of Ansel Adams mention.  Seriously though, that is an outstanding banquet right there.  Nailed it across the board.

    I've often smoked a 7-bone or chuck roast destined for chili; it never occurred to me to do a big beef/pork/veal/gator burger to do the same thing!
    Sooo stolen; thanks Matt!  :)

    @Battleborn Thanks. The chef grade masa flour from Masienda is worth the money. It makes really good corn tortillas.
    Taco Chronicles on Netflix always gets me stirred up about tacos.

         Sure sorry to hear about the fence, but more sorry about the damson tree, nothing better to soak in moonshine.  I have a ½ gallon jar in the shop fridge, untouched since 1998 when I went teetotal.  Beautiful deep red color and smells soooo good.

  • @Eoin This is what we woke up to one morning!  Large oak tree fell, there was no wind or other external cause.  Thank God it fell away from the house or any other property.  My SIL heats with wood, so a "windfall" of sorts for him.  I had to buy a 20" bar for my Stihl 036 Pro, the trunk is 29" diameter at the point the power pole in the background bisects it.
