2020 pages on this monumental thread.  Too bad that number is relegated to such a year.  But we will persevere and emerge even better Q masters down-stream.  Onward and Upward!  Go forth and cook great banquets.

On a conference call with mostly people with PhD’s and some of them cannot figure out how to mute their microphone if they aren’t talking.  First world problems I guess, happy Thursday.
I was on one earlier where we had a 5 min break and the host left his mic open and went to the bathroom.  It was a vendor, his mgmt team was on.  Ouch.
My company is making me get a webcam.  I told them I couldn't figure out how to order it.  They had my admin order it for me :bawling:  I have not worn a shirt or shaved since February.

I'm on at least one every day. I can happily confirm that pants are still optional.
It's better than that actually.  I realized recently that I could still wear a dress shirt I had that has a stain in it, because the stain was below the Zoom window.  That felt like a pretty big win at the time.
Ha ha. We have a new CEO starting Monday. We decided to have a call today to let everyone know that it’s probably not a good idea to have a wrinkled t shirt and hat on for that one just to be safe.

My tastes are not as cultured.  I like my JKU, but when I want something more refined, I borrow the wife's 4Runner.  I do use the Rzr for zipping around town too.

Spent an evening helping friends clean up a bunch of down trees.  Half a gallon of water in 3 hours and still drinking water, didn’t realize it was this hot and humid.

Online research for the wife’s next ride. Gotta be a larger midsize suv. Can’t fit a Tahoe in the garage. Current ride is a 2015 Acadia Denali. Looking at Lincoln Aviator, VW Atlas, Volvo XC90. Anyone got any input?
We recently purchased a Kia Telluride. Drove a Subaru Ascent, Toyota Highlander and VW Atlas prior to purchase.

Kia was definitely our favorite, but would have been happy with the Ascent or Highlander too. VW was a distant fourth.

Neighbor had a XC90 that they had nothing but problems with so we didn't even test drive one.

Base model Aviator is cheaper than the Platinum edition Explorer and cheaper than the Audi Q7. Yukon would be ideal, but we’d have to bag it to fit in the garage. Joys of buying a home that was owned by a 104 year old granny with a lead sled. Garage height in the roof is 7’. Door opening lower than that.

Things I wish I wouldn’t have so easily forgotten, but glad Matlab or other packages can do.

Machine learning- if I make it back to a Friday night call in the future would be interested in your opinion around the subject and it’s applications.

Why do you have your number columns center aligned?  I think the key to mathy stuff is it need to be visually appealing.

That shift doesn't bother me, but thank you for the observation.  The Duke students also tend to be anal retentive, so I'll fix that up.

We're actually teaching them how to do all of this with python, which is very similar to Matlab in many ways.   The way we teach this kind of thing though is to teach the theory behind the tool before teaching them how to use the tool.  We don't want it to just be a black box, in other words.

Happy to discuss ML.  I have less expertise there - my colleague is teaching that part of the course.  I do have a reasonably good understanding of how it works, however, as it is discussed so often in my world these days.

    Davies is a beast.

I know Messi is the GOAT, but they really need to readjust and give de Jong the keys.  Leo to City might be the best thing to happen to Barca.
