    I keep it in the basement away from the rest of the stash so I don't drink it all at once. It's a fine drink.

    I like beans in my chili so I don't even try to make "real" chili.
    I must concur brother Heavy. Chili without beans is simply a turd colorant. We make it once a year on Halloween for the annual turd fest/contest. When we are making it to enjoy as a meal it definitely gets a large dose of beans.

    Putting a half dozen turkey legs and two skinless chicken leg quarters in a few minutes. Marinated over night in a spiced rum wet rub over night. Going to start at felt level direct followed by up in the dome direct. I have posted the rub before. Probably should have made a larger amount of rub but I added the chicken at the last minute. Going to carry it to the folks. Also going to pick all of the winter squash while I am there . Plus Driving Miss Daisey to Walmart etc.

    Finished pics please and a link to the rub. Spiced rum sounds good.

    This one gets the Myron Mixon, Aaron Franklin and Scottie Horton nod of approval. It looks spectacular my friend.

    When it is 107 outside, no matter how fast you go in a side-by-side, it never gets comfortable.

    Morning all,  just filing my usual report out of habit and custom.

    As you know the football season ended last weekend, except;
    - Arsenal & Chelsea play the FA cup Final today.  Once the most famous match in the world and a genuine street emptier, being the only match allowed to be shown on live TV.  Then the 1980's happened and things started to change.  Traditionally a 1 goal game, but these two teams have defences that don't promote that theory.  3-2 Gooners.

    - The Scottish Premier league starts today, curious bunch our thistle bothering fried food enthusiast cousins.  Celtic will win the league, Rangers might run them close. That's the entire season, all matches done in 10 words.

    - The most valuable game in the world is on Tuesday; Brentford v Fulham, winner goes in to the PL - the game is worth north of £200m, alone.  The former adopted the money-ball / Soccernomics model a few years ago. The other is a faded glory semi-rejuvenated glamour club.  Both in west London.
    Tight game, tough to call.  Fulham just edge it as the pressure is too much for the Bee's. 1-2.

    - Wednesday sees the continuation of last season European competitions.  Except we have closed (some of the) borders again.  That could get messy.

    - And in fact 2 championship clubs are in separate legal wrangles; Sheffield Wednesday and Wigan, both received 12 point deductions for unorthodox accounting practices.  Thing is that Wigan got the hit almost immediately in the last couple of weeks of the season and went down,  Sheff Wed have just got their's and stay-up (start on -12 next season) but the verdict was very, very delayed for obscure reasons.

    It's a funny old game.
    Other girls may try to take me away
    But you know, it's by your side I will stay
