...why didn't you just get an industry standard Roku or Firestick, where you know it's going to work great?
All I really want are my local CBS/ABC/PBS stations; I can't get the first two on the Roku (which I have) and OTA doesn't work in my area any more.
I just would rather not pay Dish $107/month for just those two channels, am grasping for something else that might work.

Depends on why you want the local channels.  Do you want local news, sports, or for their tv shows?

Gotcha. Not sure about CBS/ABC but I can stream PBS from their official app on my Firestick. When the app installs it asks you to link it to your local PBS affiliate.  I also cut off DirectTV recently and don't want to pay the crazy prices for all the live TV packages I've found. If live tv was $15 like Netflix I'd be all over... but $50+? Nah.

Well, I've disconnected my new Android TV box and thrown it in the trash.  Got it connected to my wifi just fine, got the screen on my TV, could call up movies and TV shows, set up my Amazoid Prime.  There was a block at the top that had a message in it, the message went away but the block didn't.  I unplugged it, plugged it back in, was still there.  Then it locked up, no button on the remote would work, nor did the Wechip alternate remote I had purchased (it worked at first).  I unplugged it again, for the rest of the night.
Same thing this morning, neither remote would work, couldn't even turn the unit off.  Between this, and that #%&*%! pressure washer, I'm ready to look into the Amana colonies again.  Ph*kket!  :anguished:

Just finished up a two hour zoom session with a bunch (45 on the call, from Hi to the east coast) of crusty old submariners talking Rickover stories   Hadn't connected with most in 30+ years.  It was great fun and very enjoyable.  This Zoom technology is a game changer.

It’s 95 out today and I figured why not just suffer more so made some actual chili not whatever you non Texans think is chili.

Is that ground meat I'm seeing? Real Texas chili uses cubed meat.

Yes it is, and you are incorrect. I judge chili at the Texas State Fair every year. Which is a prelim round for Terlingua. Ground meat is allowed and the preferred type for 98% of cooks. I also stayed at a holiday inn about 3 weeks ago.

Meant to add, no crackers, taste should stand on its own.  At most, oyster crackers.

Well, my late mother, Texas born and raised, would disagree that using ground beef is the real deal. But I'll leave that for Texans to argue about.
I like beans in my chili so I don't even try to make "real" chili.
