So it’s official - I had the stomach flu rather than food poisoning. How do I know? My wife now has it. Just hoping my 5 year old, and especially two month old, don’t get it. 😐

@GrateEggspectations Regardless the whole deal sucks. Gotta admit I must have lived a sheltered life...flu in the summer???Rally and recover post haste.Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Seems I'm livin in a transitional period. CHEETO (aka Agent Orange) makes Nixon look like a saint.

Thanks a lot, Frank. Really small potatoes in the big picture; I lead a very charmed life. Has been interesting to try to balance taking care of the three of them. Confirms my great appreciation for the level of effort given by single mothers. They are saints beyond compare.lousubcap said:@GrateEggspectations Regardless the whole deal sucks. Spent my first day ever at a downhill mountain bike park. It was a blast and I am super sore but it was a lot of fun.

I intended to reference “single parents” and not only single mothers.
One of my wife’s clients lost his young wife to MS a few years ago, leaving behind his two young children for him to care for. Not sure I’ve ever seen such a devoted father - a man who easily could have wallowed in self-pity but instead chose to do his late wife proud by giving all of himself to raise his children with greater devotion than most children with two parents could ever wish for. He is a hero - not only for those kids and for his late wife, but for society at large. -
Had daddy duty while mom got a massage. Two dirty diapers in 25 minutes, good job little dude!

I still don’t know...remove all the macho American sport bullish!t from it and you’ve got a wealthy, well educated man who is choosing to stop engaging in activities that has previously caused serious injuries, and is likely to cause permanent physical or mental harm in the near future.Wolfpack said:

If this was a doctor you knew who was choosing to give up extreme skiing, you’d be all for it, it would make perfect sense. But since it’s wrapped up in our obsession with sports (especially American brain damage ball).....LBGE

Est. $40 million net worth is nothing to sneeze at but considering he could be making $20 mil/year pre tax hard to walk.
Either way the league is worse without him- loved watching him play and sad to see him go so early.Greensboro, NC -
If I had 40 in the bank, I’d walk away right now with no regarts. Me I don’t get the shît kicked out of me physically every week, only mentally.Wolfpack said:Est. $40 million net worth is nothing to sneeze at but considering he could be making $20 mil/year pre tax hard to walk.

How contracts to date have him making over 97 mil. Not sure where 40 is coming from.
Either way, sucks to see a potential all timer hang them up early. But apparently the injuries were just too much for him to overcome year in and year out. Glad to see him go out on his own terms at least.
I would say, Sucks to be a Colts fan. But I’m a Bucs fan, so welcome to my hell. -
@JohnInCarolina this was in Brianhead UT (south central part of the state. I think it’s the furthest south ski resort. It’s in a really cool area about 30 miles from Bryce Canyon National Park, and near Cedar Breaks National Monument.

I’m retired if I had $4M with no regrets. Hard to pass judgement on someone who walks after pulling in 20-30x that much money especially considering he’s the one taking the beating each week.theyolksonyou said:

AL sounds like a wise man. All the money in the world can’t replace health, which translates to quality time with loved ones.
