If it was a poor prep, yes. Otherwise, it's strictly over the phone. Typically loose or watery, and bloody.It beats what I used to do, when it was actively thrown at me by brain injury patients. Frontal lesions are the best!

Ahh, the finger painters.  Had a pleasant surprise one shift with a pt taking a crap and placing it on their dinner plate, then they put the plastic cover on top.  Same person was giving their urinal a breathing treatment.  Brain mets can be a joy as well.   

Always fun when a family is bedside and  a person takes their last breaths on earth aspirating and vomiting stool.

I do that almost very day. Tomorrow, I'm taking a break from the drudgery and heading to Austin City Limits Festival with my 15 Yr old son. Sucks but someone has to do it ).
