I just had a company clean mine at home. They come twice per year. From the ground outside, some are 25-30 feet up. The living room inside has 25 foot ceilings and windows to the top.

Can definitely see needing a company for such a job.

They have some screen cleaning machine too.  All the screens go out to their trailer. I feel it's money well spent.  The equipment I would need and the time.... And the safety factor.....

I'm getting it going early. I need to replace a couple power units to the salt cells and I just want this thing dialed in by the beginning of summer. Pool service companies are terrible around here.  I have one that I like but sometimes they are weeks in between visits.

Now we are talking! @kl8ton I would pay someone to do it but I don't think anyone would come out this far. @DoubleEgger and @GrateEggspectations thanks for the tool tips.

go back in time and get the old newspaper for window cleaning, fire starting, puppy training etc
I don’t even know where I could buy a newspaper.

puppy training this time around was different, they make big diaper mats that sell at petco. i remember training my german shepard with the local newspaper then cancelling it. they wanted to know why.....told them my dog is trained to go outside now. they kept calling for months to resubscribe.

Got word my Jeep, which was involved in an accident, has been totaled. Frame was bent 6”.  So having it sent to a buddies shop so I can pull off all my aftermarket stuff before CoParts picks it up.  Uugghh.  Was hoping they could fix it.

Going to sign up for social insecurity and mediwhatever tomorrow in person. Some scammer found out and had tried to tell me that the meeting has been changed to a phone meeting, please have my checking info ready. I called the local office and verified that it was still scheduled for in person. I may have been born at night but it wasn’t last night.

  • Just read that typing “12ft.io/“ at the front end of paywall-blocked urls bypasses the paywall. Had never seen that before. Have just tried it on a few sites and it seems to work.

Going thru the same thing right now.  Haven't yet been able to find the correct expert to help with the transitions between Blue Cross Federal, TriCare, Medicare, and Social Security.  Watched an hour-long video from my Credit Union this evening, but we know they have a "vested" interest....

@Botch- get Medicare Parts A and B, then if you are eligible for Tricare For Life ditch anything else.

I’ll have to give that a shot.  I’ve just been using this:

Doesn’t get much easier to remember than that.

In my case my state employees retirement insurance becomes the 20% wrap around insurance. I will need a Medicare Part D for medications though. An insurance broker said that when I had my Medicare ID number he could find a Part D for me. H&R Block told me to have 22% deducted from SS for federal income tax.

Sorry to hear @Ozzie_Isaac. That’s rough.
It was an interesting 3 days.  My child got in a wreck with her vehicle then mine.  Look on tow truck drivers face when I said just drop the jeep next to that truck was priceless.  He said man, when I’m having a bad day, I’m going to think about you 🤣

I just assumed all were okay, given you likely would have highlighted it otherwise. As bad as it is, could have been a lot worse - as you know! Hope it doesn’t shake your daughter’s confidence (any more than it should). Have had friends whose children had accidents, and many stress the importance of getting back on the metal horse.

Reminds me of the wisdom of @lousubcap’s comments a few weeks back, when he referenced the perils of having young drivers in the household.

Assuming you replace the vehicle, keep up posted on your choice (or perhaps I should say, Jeep us posted).

On some websites that I frequent with paywall select “use reader automatically” and you don’t have to do anything, click an article and read it.

Thankfully everyone is okay and small changes could have made the outcomes so so so much worse. Material items can be replaced. Her truck is being repaired, so that is good.  When she drives again it will be supervised for a while, assuming insurance doesn’t drop her.

@Ozzie_Isaac - glad everyone is okay.  Always major lessons to be learned when your child has their first vehicle accident.
Regarding insurance-the company won't drop her (based on having gone thru one each of these events with my two sons) but be ready for the coverage price hike.
