Gotcha, figured it worked.
I had concrete curbing installed around my flower and shrub beds and they added a small amount of fiberglass strands to the concrete. Said it strengthened it a lot.

Well that sucks. 5.5 mm is basically the size of a 22 bullet. You will have a fun ride over the next day or 3.

@nolaegghead - Tough news about Hendrik. You always spoke of him with the highest regards. I was foryunate enough to meet him at a boilat your shop, April '21. Condolences to all.

Hopefully they blast that stone. Talk about a challenging day. Dang!

In a nutshell, Henrik had a genetic condition that results in a very high red blood cell count. His blood is much thicker than it should be. He's been treating the symptoms and routinely had procedures where red blood cells are harvested from his blood, returning the rest. Sadly all that red blood cell donation was not allowed for transfusions in the blood system.

Anyway, he had a high clot risk from that condition and that's what ultimately started the chain of events. Last year he had an embolism and mild heart attack. Just this week he was returning from a trip to Spain to ride his bikes on some of the great MotoGP tracks there. He was coming home (Switzerland) and suffered another heart attack. He was in surgery for that attack and died on the OR table. This was around 2PM today. I heard this second hand, some details may not be completely accurate.

He was 56, had gotten married a year ago. His daughter just finished some grad school engineering at a university in Copenhagen, and she had gotten married and had a daughter. Henrik was elated with his granddaughter. He had divested 4 out of 5 of his properties in the US and had his last house on the market, got rid of all his vehicles here, shipped a few bikes back to Europe. Bought a house in Denmark where his daughter is living. He retired at 49 after getting laid off from Schlumberger where he was a senior engineer. Invested wisely and was fairly wealthy - lived off his investment income.

So he had a bright future ahead of him, which makes it even more painful.

I got all the requisite drugs to try passing the stone, but I'm making appointments with a urologist and my general asap. If it doesn't pass in the next day or two I'll probably have to go in for the surgery or whatever they call shoving an alien looking device up the pee-hole. I hope I can pass it. But right now the pain is at a 1 or 2 whereas for a good 5 or 6 hours it was unbearable. Then it gradually dropped (somewhat due to the morphine and oxy). I'm calling the worst pain a "9" on the 1-10 scale where 10 is reserved for the type you'd get if you had your arm slowly sawed off while completely sober.

I heard from a coworker who's had kids and kidney stones, that the kidney stone pain level was about as bad as childbirth. Maybe she had an easy childbirth, but I can believe it's on par in bad cases.

I couldn't do anything when it was bad except curl up in a ball on the floor, rolling around.

Finally entered the Japanese A5 club. Ordered a New York strip, cooked rare. This looks overcooked, let me say it was absolutely perfect. I was disappointed by the looks when it arrived, but the looks did not do it justice. It was actually cooked perfect. Not sure how hot their salamander was, but had to be about as hot as the surface of the sun. Outside was charred beautifully and inside was almost still cold. This thing was amazing and weird.

Amazing because it was the absolute best steak I have ever eaten in my life (my son actually ordered it, but he shared). It was like meat butter. However, the two of us could not even finish the 10oz. @lousubcap always says it is rich, and a little goes a long way, but I didn't realize he was being serious not just exaggerating. First bite was absolutely heavenly. Second and third bites where amazing .... then, it became too much. Like eating meat butter. Never have I had something so good that is actually too much. We literally ate crab legs to cut the richness, lol!

I am very glad I had it, but it will not be a regular thing. Maybe once every 6 months or a year, and 4oz is probably more than enough as a table share.

@Ozzie_Isaac - You entered via the expensive A5 club door. I will never bring myself to order it in a restaurant. I get it shipped, generally from Crowd Cow and then cut into around 4-5 oz portions and freeze until time to enjoy.

It's an easy cook as it is simple to execute and goes quickly.

And for sure, no exaggeration here.

kitchen faucet broke, cold water fully running. go buy a 1/2 inch valve with compression fittings. easy fix to buy some time to get the things i need to get the sink up and running again.....go to cut the line and see its 7/16 OD copper.....where did some one find that. anyways, shut the water heater and main line coming into the house off. heading off for a week, will think about it when i get back

Pipes are measured in ID, tubing OD. That’s probably 3/8” ID, but it doesn’t matter because faucet lines are usually sold with the ends flared with the fittings pre-attached

3/8 copper measures 1/2 on the od. Traced the 7/16 back to a 1/2 inch tee and they filled it with a huge amount of solder. The 1/2 tee is a 5/8 Id. It will be changed to pex from there up to the new faucet fittings
