Getting a new raised seam metal roof for the house. Pulled off the solar panels as prep. Need to deal with the hvac condenser also and a couple of power roof fans need to come down.

@alaskanassasin - If you are expecting a delivery from them, then be the good samaritan and help 'em out.Otherwise let the driver sort it out on his/her own. Likely everything on the truck is late for delivery and headed to the wrong destination anyhow.

@GrateEggspectations - Besides offering that great set of pics how about some details on that sandwich as it looks impressive. I see some worthy elements but...

The place you have (impressively) linked is a favourite of ours and has been for years and years, but that’s not where we were today. 😛Canugghead said:

Grilling costillas and arrachera in an adobo marinade. Mouth is watering.

What are costillas? They don't appear in my Dictionary (and, for the others, Arrachera is just skirt steak).Ozzie_Isaac said:Grilling costillas and arrachera in an adobo marinade.“I'll have what she's having."

Thin cut mexican short ribs. Cut perpendicular to the bone. I slice between the bone and serve as a finger food. (May see them called flanken ribs, bit most of our carnacerias don't know that name.)Botch said:

This is twice in about 9 days. One of our local carnacerias has this new adobo marinade. I usually find marinades from stores to salty, but this one is amazing.Dobie said:

Makes a great week night cook. I serve it with refried beans, mexican rice, avocado, plus regular condiments (sour cream/crema, cotija, cebollas curtidas, salsa, etc). Throw it on over direct heat and keep flipping it, anywhere between 400-550, so makes a quick meal.

I feel bad for people who have to work Sundays myself excluded. Though this guy did a 3 point turn in the middle of the road, our roads barely accommodate 2 vehicles (no center lines) and dumped his box truck into a 3’ deep ditch. Based on my interaction and his situation it would be hard to believe he wasn’t on drugs.lousubcap said:@alaskanassasin - If you are expecting a delivery from them, then be the good samaritan and help 'em out.Otherwise let the driver sort it out on his/her own. SV'ing a batch of Char Siu for 24h, FB setup to babysit Anova, too bad the minimum pit alarm range is +/- 10 degrees. Slight disagreement between the two devices 136.4 vs 135.

I would trust the Anova. I also would only worry about low temp alarm, not higher temp.Canugghead said:SV'ing a batch of Char Siu for 24h, FB setup to babysit Anova, too bad the minimum pit alarm range is +/- 10 degrees. Slight disagreement between the two devices 136.4 vs 135.

I check my Sous Vide water temps with a thermapen if I am running low temps and close to min times. Otherwise, I don't worry. 136.4 is solidly in the safe range and 24hrs is plenty of time to sterilize.

Agree low temp is the concern, by that I mean heater not working not just few degrees fluctuation. At my setting the alarm goes off if below 135 or over 155.Ozzie_Isaac said:

I trust Anova but user error or power blink could ruin the cook, yes I worry too much
Don't normally do this but 24h is a long time, already have the FB so might as well use it. canuckland -

The place is called Tavern on the Falls. It’s a neat concept - cheap eats dressed up and done well. Makes for a fun outing. The dog is the Seoul Sista, featuring hoisin, ginger, lime, bbq pulled pork, kimchi, pickled jalapeño, and crispy onion. $10.50. -

You have a great eye! One of the things I love about this place is that they get fresh bread daily from one of our city’s best bakeries (Art Is In bakery). Each sandwich is $8.50 plus tax; was $5 when I started frequenting this establishment.FrostyEgg said:That bread looks fantastic.

Replaced passenger side heat door actuator in the Impala. It stuck on "cold" about a month ago, while we were in Colorado. When heat was needed, Angie got by with seat heater on and passenger vents blocked.Access is gained by removing the glovebox, not ideal, very tight quarters...
The old actuator had a couple broken teeth on one gear, the upper right...
All back together and working. Old one made it for 17 years, not too bad but wish it had waited for the next owner.LBGE, LBGE-PTR, 22" Weber, Coleman 413GGreat Plains, USA -
A friend stopped by to drop off a "retirement" gift. He laughed because for my new job I have already clocked about 50hrs since Friday. Hazards of working for your own business I guess.
Anyway, he said this whiskey reminded him of me, 😂
