That was a $$ shot that told the story right there.  Great pie and results!  Dang-

Looks like fun @Jstroke !  Given the time, I like to do L&S’s too. Something about waking up to a smoky aroma outside that’s pleasant on a day off. And all the work is pretty much done. Dishes done, smoke nostrils cleared, hot shower, fresh t-shirt, coffee…. All that’s left to do is FTC until time to eat.

Looks pretty @ryantt ! I’m assuming NG made it?

Mustard based baby backs and cold oil fries on the agenda here tonight.

@ryantt- that is quite a high powered sugar cookie.  Looks great!

Today would have been my MIL’s 45th anniversary. I made her some shrimp scampi, what my FIL always made her on their anniversary. It was delicious. Such a simple cook.
    Bravo, sir. Bravo.

Call me crazy, but I’ve recently enjoyed the results trimming all fat off my rib steaks prior to cooking. It ends up like a more flavourful and slightly less tender filet mignon. And every bite is consistent. The above is such a specimen.

It’s funny because my thoughts were “why is he wasting that steak on the damn kids?!?!?”

Way to introduce them early to the fruits of their labours (nod) later in life.  For me, I always preached to my sons in their youth even in the fall that NFL meant No Free Lunch.  Well played right there.
BTW- that is a great looking steak right there.  Better to be lucky than good.
I think the kiddos could use the tutorial.  B)

Were they choice or prime? I've seen choice plate ribs at my local costco recently.

These were choice but give the exposed sides a look as the marbling was quite good.  I can't find plate ribs at prime grade around here and I gave them a shot based on the look and price point as the only other option I consider and do frequent is SRF.
The buy was a two pack, three ribs each totaling 12 lbs.  I will do it again.

@Ozzie_Isaac you are definitely a chili head given messing with Carolina Reapers.  You will recall your dinner tomorrow AM.  Way to get after the flavours (nod).

Girls are away at a dance comp so my 9yr old wanted his favourite steak. Flat iron from Walmart for the win!!  My daughter doesn't like it even when I try to pass it as flank steak which she likes. I'm not complaining about eating flat iron steak!!!
