Thx @Hook_emHornsfan_74 ! Giving it some time to rest. Man it smells good. Will edit with a sliced pic in a few once it cools a bit.“Money Shot” wasn’t too impressive but it’s good nonetheless.

Some might venture to say we’re awaiting the “money shot”.

Something I haven’t done in ten years. Cook a butt super L&S. Just for the heck of it. Cruising at 225. Been stalled for two hours. Figure I will go to go to bed and see her in the morning. Fun times.Columbus, Ohio--A Gasser filled with Matchlight and an Ugly Drum.

Anyone have a good online source for beef cheeks? Maybe i'll email SRF.

That was a $$ shot that told the story right there. Great pie and results! Dang-
Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. # 38 for the win. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Seems I'm livin in a transitional period. -
Looks like fun @Jstroke ! Given the time, I like to do L&S’s too. Something about waking up to a smoky aroma outside that’s pleasant on a day off. And all the work is pretty much done. Dishes done, smoke nostrils cleared, hot shower, fresh t-shirt, coffee…. All that’s left to do is FTC until time to eat.

This is a simple 4 layer sugar cookie cake decorated in MCS Chargers Colors for our upcoming basketball tournament. Each cookie has a 6 inch diameter.

Looks pretty @ryantt ! I’m assuming NG made it?
Mustard based baby backs and cold oil fries on the agenda here tonight. -
@ryantt- that is quite a high powered sugar cookie. Looks great!

Today would have been my MIL’s 45th anniversary. I made her some shrimp scampi, what my FIL always made her on their anniversary. It was delicious. Such a simple cook.Las Vegas, NV

Rib steak for the kiddos.
-
Call me crazy, but I’ve recently enjoyed the results trimming all fat off my rib steaks prior to cooking. It ends up like a more flavourful and slightly less tender filet mignon. And every bite is consistent. The above is such a specimen.

Tried something new tonight and made the Thomas Keller zucchini recipe. Added in some roasted Brussel sprouts and egged and Asian marinaded flap steak. My wife and I really liked the zucchini, it created a very soft texture with the flavor of the vegetable being front and center. I would make it again, but thinking a little Parmesan crust on top would be a fitting modification.Greensboro, NC

caliking said:GrateEggspectations said:Rib steak for the kiddos.Way to introduce them early to the fruits of their labours (nod) later in life. For me, I always preached to my sons in their youth even in the fall that NFL meant No Free Lunch. Well played right there.BTW- that is a great looking steak right there. Better to be lucky than good.I think the kiddos could use the tutorial.

Can't touch the above but cooked up some beef ribs tonight-Plate ribs (from Costco first time seeing them there (score) and beef back ribs, also Costco and in single rack packages). No worries as the great majority will go to the local extended families...(Yes, they are lucky.)While my photo skills are weak I even scored a ring on both racks.I will definitely go again, especially if I find the plate ribs.Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. # 38 for the win. Were they choice or prime? I've seen choice plate ribs at my local costco recently.
-
These were choice but give the exposed sides a look as the marbling was quite good. I can't find plate ribs at prime grade around here and I gave them a shot based on the look and price point as the only other option I consider and do frequent is SRF.The buy was a two pack, three ribs each totaling 12 lbs. I will do it again.Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. # 38 for the win. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Seems I'm livin in a transitional period.

Spaghetti with fermented tomatoes and onions. These were fermented with Carolina Reapers and definitely add a nice kick.

@Ozzie_Isaac you are definitely a chili head given messing with Carolina Reapers. You will recall your dinner tomorrow AM. Way to get after the flavours (nod).

Girls are away at a dance comp so my 9yr old wanted his favourite steak. Flat iron from Walmart for the win!! My daughter doesn't like it even when I try to pass it as flank steak which she likes. I'm not complaining about eating flat iron steak!!!
