I'm waiting for the retort "but, ONLY 2 people were killed, because the good guys with guns got there in time!"
And no doubt the teacher who sacrificed herself to save some of her students is considered one of the “sheep”

  • Tragic yes...How many kids died in a swimming pool or from household cleaners or medications laying around? The sad part is how you libs actually celebrate inside when you can point out somehow a gun was to "blame".
We have childproof caps required on meeication, and very strict fencing and audible alarms on pools to prevent these tragedies.
Yet you don’t see them taking away a pool from me when some crazy person drowned their own kids. Pools also are not a constitutional right. Guns are.

How about we have gun education classes in the school to teach safety? I’m thinking it’s a good idea.

Perfect opportunity to call for a "ferinstance".

Deaths in 2022, caused by a school shooter (not even counting all gun deaths nationally)... 48

    https://everytownresearch.org/maps/gunfire-on-school-grounds/#:~:text=In 2022 there were at,deaths and 111 injuries nationally.

Deaths in 2022, caused by "some crazy person drowned their own kids."... ?

You always seem to forget that the Constitution can be amended.

Makes me wonder what kind of fumes you've sniffed.

This is my beef with current gun laws. The St. Louis school shooter failed his background check at the gun shop so he just bought an AR in a private sale and shot 9 people. The police had been called to his home because he had lifelong mental health issues and his parents found the gun. Even though the police knew he failed a background check and had known mental health issues, they could not do anything about it as this gun was legally purchased from a private seller. This is insanity.

ST. LOUIS -- The 19-year-old gunman who forced his way into a St. Louis school and killed two people purchased the AR-15-style rifle from a private seller after an FBI background check stopped him from buying a weapon from a licensed dealer, police said Thursday.

Harris’ mother was “heartbroken” by the shooting, Police Commissioner Michael Sack said. She and other relatives had long dealt with Harris’ mental health issues and even had him committed at times, Sack said at a news conference on Wednesday. They also monitored his mail and often checked his room to make sure he did not have a weapon.

Yep.  Missouri has some of the loosest gun laws in the US.

No f*ing way a class on gun safety stops any of these mass shootings.  It might actually make them worse.  Teach kids proper stance, how to aim, how to clear a jam?  Why do we want better trained shooters.  This is about the stupidest idea I have ever read in my entire life.  SMH. Off course this would come from a liberal indoctrination specialist.

@Ozzie_Isaac - @JohnInCarolina was clearly being sarcastic with those remarks.  Feeding a troll who has espoused education as one means to address gun violence in society.

It is like open mic night at a shady comedy club right next to a run down stripper joint.  This is where you try out new material before your Netflix special.

    Did someone say "enema"??

And is the stripper joint to the east, or west?

Apparently Googlemaps won't show strip club names.

Yet you are fine with sexual education being taught and transvestite dance day with the children....Will teaching kids the dangers of drugs turn them into dope heads?

Being educated on guns will not turn them into bloodthirst savages. It teaches respect and the proper way to handle them. Your stance on this is stupid like most lib ideas.

You want the government and a school to teach your children about guns?

Gun education and respect should be taught at home.  I don't want teachers responsible for that.

AZ has permitless carry both open and concealed.  Cannot carry them into places where majority of the sales come from alcohol or if posted.  We do not have a rash of shootings, still plenty of good ol' fist-a-cuffs.

Less than 19 other states.  Also, these are death rates.  Arizonians just might be better shots.  Look at crimes involving a weapon, or just gun injuries.  I bet the order shuffles a bit.  When I lived in Illinois, there were way way way more shootings in the news.  You rarely hear about them in AZ.
