I guess all the developed countries are doing it wrong, letting women make decisions about their body. All the 2nd and third world countries and all the religious law like Sharia is the way to go, huh? It's not enough that you can make that decision if you have some money, but you have to force other women to gestate against their will. Because of magical beings that tell you it's wrong and other voices in your head.I guarantee if your daughter is raped you are going to pay whatever it takes to get it "fixed", that hypocrisy bears out near 100%. Other people, now that's where you find Jesus. FFS______________________________________________I love lamp..

Actually the developed countries had stricter regulations than thee US under Roe. The EU limits abortion to 12 weeks unless the life of the mother is in danger. The Mississippi law that the Supremes upheld limited abortion to 15 weeks.

Texas had signed a law making it illegal after 6 weeks when many women don’t even realize they are pregnant. By 12 weeks a woman should know. The pills work until at least 11 weeks. I don’t know what is reasonable but I would let the medical community and patients work that out, like just about every other medical procedure

So Mississippi’s law is more lenient than all most all of the countries shown. The UK no longer being part of the EU or the Ukraine for that matter.

“Lenient”? WTF!?

As has been said, and maybe here although I did not scroll back to the beginning; "Pro choice means just that, Pro life means no choice." The SCOTUS ruling is a sad day for the nation and sad for the recently confirmed justices who said one thing to get the job and another when in the position.

I think you're referring to the law that resulted in the recent SC ruling, but it appears that with Roe being overturned, the law in Mississippi is actually going to end up being far more restrictive. The state had a "trigger law" in place:

Abortion in Mississippi will soon be illegal in nearly all cases. Forget the 15 week thing. This is why the clinic in Jackson is likely to close soon."I've made a note never to piss you two off." - Stike

Precedence of the various passed laws will have to be decided by the state courts. Trying to figure out which way that they will jump is likely futile. Remember though that federal courts could have had the 15 week deal.JohnInCarolina said:Gulfcoastguy said:So Mississippi’s law is more lenient than all most all of the countries shown. Well the clinic in Jackson appears to believe it’ll be decided in a direction that doesn’t favor women. I think they’re the last one in the state? Sounds like a pretty terrible situation to me. I think a lot of those women would rather have the laws in most of Europe right about now.Gulfcoastguy said:

No one “likes” abortions. There is a ridiculous narrative about how “libs” (as assholewilson calls them) are joyously promoting abortions whereas the same people are advocating birth control and family planning.______________________________________________I love lamp..

Key to this view is then to ignore the continuing damage and actual welfare of both victims, all while judge lets rapist go. For facts, see any number of rich white boy rape cases in Texas.I would rather light a candle than curse your darkness.

So many assumptions. No sure if you are real or a satire. Leaning towards satire.WildmanWilson said:You baby killing libs are a hoot. Don't worry...a woman will still have the freedom to murder her child if they wish so you guys won't have to pony up any child support.
Against my better judgement I will engage. This is about much more than abortion. This is about right to privacy, right to healthcare, and right to self determination. If you do not see the scary hill Clarence Thomas has sent us careening down, then I recommend you read some of the legal summaries of the ruling. This is much much larger than abortion.
Also, your (Extreme right) approach to this topic is one of the many reasons I have taken a big step back from this, frankly scary, current incarnation of the "republican" party.I would rather light a candle than curse your darkness.

Trying to stay true to your gun control logic, you can’t stop women from having an abortion if they want to abort a pregnancy. Making it illegal just means they’ll seek ways that break the law and are unsafe. So why make it illegal or put limits on it?WildmanWilson said:You baby killing libs are a hoot. Abortion is such a personal issue. Granted the fetus does not have a voice but I am quite sure there is plenty of soul-searching involved in whichever way the woman/couple decides. We (guys) can talk, post, email and posture anywhere as much as we want but we are not in the direct line of impact here.

Inside a stomach!? For the record I’m against eating babies.WildmanWilson said:
So why stop there? Why not allow the woman to kill the baby a month or two after the birth? If its a burden mentally or financially, just allow her to kill it and get out from the "mistake".Legume said:

My reason to make this illegal is because its a living baby. No matter if its inside a stomach or in a basinet.
