supermarket wings 5 bucks a pound and there were just two packages left. why would they ever drop the prices back down.
fukahwee maineyou can lead a fish to water but you can not make him drink it -
I stopped in my local butcher shop where I purchase most of my meat. All of the chicken is air chilled and far superior to the big chain meats. Anyways, no wings. They have legs for $1.89/lb, Wings would be over $5/lb so they decided to temporarily drop them.

Every time I am in the US I stock up on a few things at Sam's Club, I am always amazed by the size of the chicken breasts and wings available. I am not sure if this is limited to Sam's, but I have honestly not seen anything half the size anywhere I've been in Canada. Curious after your comment if this is the results of GMO or not.Legume said:We are so overdue for GMO chickens with > 2 wings. -
Not aware of any GMO chicken. There is however GMO Salmon which was developed by a Canadian, which may be the beginning of the end of Wild salmon unfortunately.

Selective breeding and enriched feed results in large-fast growing chickens.Selective breeding and creating hybrids is arguably modifying genetics intentionally, but much less scary sounding.______________________________________________I love lamp..

Could you could say the same about having kids with a long hair hippy dude because he has marginally above average intelligence?

This is kind of a interesting article, no mention of the dairy production rate after cross breading.

Makes sense, why anyone would want to pay 3x for an inferior piece of the chicken. Real talk...chicken wings are crazy overrated.ColtsFan said:I stopped in my local butcher shop where I purchase most of my meat. Just today at a regular grocery storte unfrozen wings were $5.50/lb where the legs were the same price that you said at $1.89. I don't buy wings much so I went ahead and bought a 3lb bag frozen for $14. I got the second to last bag. I feel a bit dirty, but IIR the 10 lb bags at Sams was almost $40. I won't be buying wings again for a very long time.ColtsFan said:I stopped in my local butcher shop where I purchase most of my meat. As to large size chickens, a chicken farmer told me he started keeping birds one more week and it was worth it for the increased price. Farmers are paid by the pound. The poultry company he raised birds for had it calculated for max profit.Cooking on the coast

It must be bones that are expensive. Boneless wings around here are the same price they have been, bone-in prices at my favorite places are way up.Clinton, Iowa

Those are chicken strip pieces. There’s a hilarious YouTube video of a guy at a city council meeting arguing against the term boneless wings. Hilarious. 😜Langner91 said:It must be bones that are expensive. Boneless wings around here are the same price they have been, bone-in prices at my favorite places are way up. -
Denver tots are cancelled down here until further notice. You cant buy a frozen potato product down here to save your a$$. At least i can get booze and toilet paper (unlike this time last year). Ill give up tots for booze and toilet paper every day.

Same here up in Canada. There was some thing going on with the east coast potato farmers un-covid related recently. Some kind of potato wart that resulted in massive amounts going to waste. On another note a truck full of frozen fries rolled close in my town. My friend who runs a tow truck company hooked me up with 50lbs of fries shortly afterThe Cen-Tex Smoker said:Denver tots are cancelled down here until further notice. A friend of mine wanted cardboard tube cinnamon rolls this morning. I should have bet her $100 she wouldn't find them. Anyway, it has been a month since I last saw cardboard tube biscuits/cinnamon rolls/crescent rolls.
Once those are back in stock, I probably won't be able to find hot dogs to roll up in crescent rolls.Clinton, Iowa -

Hahaha I haven’t bought tots in 10 years but @NDG convinced me of what I am eating for breakfast tomorrow. I bought tube crescent rolls Wednesday. I plan to use them for the top crust of a chicken pot pie tomorrow.Langner91 said:A friend of mine wanted cardboard tube cinnamon rolls this morning. Funny. But I doubt there's a lot of chicken in boneless "chicken" wings. See comments about chicken nuggets elsewhere here.Langner91 said:It must be bones that are expensive.
