Cool, looks good from here. How did the sear flavor compare to seared over flames? My experience with a propane weed burner was unsuccessful.MasterC said:First attempt pretty tasty. The flavor was good no gas or torch taste that I could make out. Just need to get comfortable with it.

Look everyone…imaginary trees on a fake trucktheres enough logs there to build a really big imaginary pavilion
about half enough timber to offset the cost to Stump, rake, grade, and seed with Bermuda hay..
Barn to start hopefully in 3 months to move in by Thanksgiving, the house to be built next year..trying to wait on some prices to dip before building..
the barn will be built as a Barndo...
We want to keep an eye on things while we build the house, as some people will steal a box of screws nowadays..

I’m guessing the cold temps also mean your humidity has dropped significantly. Best humidify all those instruments.nolaegghead said:

I keep mine in a room with a great humidifier running. Actually took it apart, cleaned it and put in a new filter this morning.

I really should. So far all the furniture I've built over the years is holding up perfectly, but I construct it specifically to handle variation in moisture content from humidity.GrateEggspectations said:

While on temperatures (cold) and the home heat near constantly running, don't forget to oil your wood cutting boards. I use a food safe mineral oil and hit all exposed surfaces around monthly. I have to heavily oil my wood cutting boards, all sides regularly throughout the year. They just soak it up. Our humidity in the desert ranges from 13% on average in the summer to a down right muggy 35% during monsoon season.I would rather light a candle than curse your darkness.
