baked a wheat loaf in a Bundt pan because why now? Also tested out the proof box feature on the oven. It’ll be nice, especially in the winter.

Oh I apologize I changed my Nest thermostat over from the cool setting to the heat setting. I have had my Nest thermostat for about 4 years and am very happy with itEoin said:
I had a look at Nest a while ago and wasn't that impressed. Why did you take it out and what model to replace it? I need to change my controller and thermostat, want something easier to programme and with variable temperatures evening / day /johnmitchell said:Changed Nest thermostat over to heat. -

The house we moved into last year has a nest. Like many thermos, you can set just heat or just cool or auto. Set points tell it what to do. If you like one constant temp regardless of heat or cool, it’s probably not great as the set points for heat or cool have to be a few degrees apart.
fwiw, I have yet to experience it learning anything.THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER -
Haha good one, over here they started charging $1 probably at least two years ago. I use my own compressor and precision gauge. Hand pump in winter because tankless compressor collects condensation.Legume said:The house we moved into last year has a nest. Like many thermos, you can set just heat or just cool or auto. You can turn on Auto-Schedule and it will start learning and creating a schedule. I don’t use it, prefer to just adjust manually and I use eco mode which uses a set temp range when there’s no movement in front of the thermostat for awhile.Legume said:

@Legume hope it makes sense now

I solved it by installing a compressor in one car and a portable compressor for other cars.I would rather light a candle than curse your darkness.

Yep, it was on auto schedule when we moved in and we kept it on for a good 6-9 months before giving up on it. It did change things and adjust, I just wouldn’t call it learning. We bailed on that and use a schedule, basically coldest we’re comfortable with and hottest we’re comfortable with. We’ll manually adjust when we feel the need, or turn on the gas fireplace or use the whole house fan to augment as well. I hate waking up with the heater blaring and I’d rather put on a fleece than have it t-shirt warm in the winter. We do adjust when family visit.Cornholio said:

That is a score. don’t worry that the strips are not as marbled as some of the other Wagyu you see. They are still fantastic I don’t know how they do it but this is some of the best beef you can buy anywhere. Those are fantastic prices for it as well. The Wagyu Strip from Kroger's/Fry's is my go to steak now. I like it more than the Wagyu ribeye. My Fry's used to carry SRF Strip, buy switched to a different Wagyu supplier right now. I wonder of COVID restraunt shutdowns are leading to high quality beef at big grocery chains?TEXASBGE2018 said:Just saw this at Kroger, Sweeeettt

That is how we use the "smart thermostats" too. Our Nest kept learning into a weird corner cases and was annoying so we use a fixed schedule. My favorite ability is to track run times and adjust from my phone.Legume said:

Just saw that the wagyu is Heartbrand beef. I only have three data points with their briskets but it is top quality as noted by @The Cen-Tex Smoker. Better to be lucky than good any day.Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Seems I'm livin in a transitional period. I love their stuff. I used to have to go to a specialty butcher in Richardson to get it, nice to have it 3 miles from my house now.The Cen-Tex Smoker said:

Just made a nice shrimp and sausage gumbo. So windy I had to keep opening and closing the egg as I stirred the roux but it was totally worth the effort on a cold day.

Go stay at my house in Saucier. There is no one there. My wife is at the D’Iberville house and I am at the Hurley house. Power is on. You know how to get there. The key is in the low hanging birdhouse straight behind my big John Deere. There might be a turd or two in the bedroom toilet. Other than that it’s good to go.nolaegghead said:Still out of power.Location- Just "this side" of Biloxi, Ms.
