    I'm reverse buying.  I am encouraging the local soccer (futball) community to attend USL (LCFC) matches this season and giving up tix to selected matches.  Brand new (aka virgin stadium) linked here https://www.loucity.com/lynnfamilystadium  is a great venue.  With the audibles to the schedule the opening match was July 12th.  The club has done it right.  Attendance limited to around 30% capacity and the stadium seating is like a checkerboard setup. Masks required; one warning yellow card, second warning red card and escorted out.  Temperature checks at the entrance-staggered entrance times thru gates based on your seats.  Plenty of social distancing at the beer and bourbon dispensaries and rest rooms as well.  Hope it is a template for the future of fall sports.    FWIW-
    Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood.  Life is too short for light/lite beer!  Seems I'm livin in a transitional period. CHEETO (aka Agent Orange) makes Nixon look like a saint.

    Thinking hard on a salamander oven - there are the Otto Wilde versions, then there is one more in my range.. $200.  I have a good ceramic sear burner that has really upped my steaks, but this is the next step.  Also, cheese melter!

    I get it that they rap about situations they deal with in their communities, and I have no insight at all into that. But the beats and the rhyming are just so fun to listen to, even if it was in a language I don't speak.

    But yes, it has been a long time since I had subs in the car. My wife thinks I'm nuts. I also have two car seats in the car. But the Rona' lockdown makes you think of creative hobbies and projects....

     Car broken into 2x while in the driveway and I never had them again.

    I am in process of acquiring my first handgun.  Actually, I’ve been “processing” since July 25th.  Here, it’s hoop after hoop after hoop...  4 hours of classroom training, fingerprinting and background checking.  Once completed, you can now apply for an HQL (Handgun Qualifying License) - HQL application processing is 2-4 weeks (I’m 2 weeks in).  Once your HQL is processed and approved, it’s another 2 weeks for printing and delivery of your certificate.  Once you receive your certificate and identify the handgun you intend to acquire, you then submit an application to purchase a handgun to Maryland State Police, who will issue you an approval code within 3 days.  You then take the approval code to the gunshop to make your purchase.  Now begins a 7-day cooling off period (as if you’re not already cool enough), and on the 8th day you may possess your handgun. 

    I’m settled on a 9mm - in fact, since ammo is scarce I’ve already begun making some purchases here and there.  I would welcome suggestions on make/model.  Personal at-home protection is primary purpose, and although this is my first handgun, I would like something that might fit in a shooting enthusiast’s collection (adding accessories, frequent use at shooting range).

    Glock model 19, probably more modifications available for Glocks available than just about anything. I would start with the sights and follow up with a class in shooting them and gun safety. Oh and a small gun safe for your bedside, they have some that key to your fingerprints.

    @Gulfcoastguy The folks I did the 4 hour classroom with offer a next steps training session that covers home defense strategies and involves shooting at least 200 rounds at the range.  Definitely going to go it.

    oh, and looking at a Vaultek model that reads fingerprints for bedside

    This. I’ve owned Glocks and decided the M&P fit my hand much better. Can’t go wrong with either. HK also makes the P30 or the VP9. VP9 is exactly like a Glock or M&P, striker fired.

    I just purchased the Sig P320 M18.  There are lots of mods for that gun as well.  I too purchased a Vaultek, however I went with the Lifepod.  I like the versatility of it.  I keep the gun in it at home and while transporting, but I can put the gun in my more traditional safe and use the Pod for travel and other things.

    @saluki2007 Will consider the pod.  Here in Maryland, unless you have a carry permit, which is very hard to get, legal transport is pretty much limited to between home and range, with gun and ammo separated.

    Cool.

    I bought a Northfire Inferno a year ago and it has been pretty good.

    When you get it I suggest you do the slices of bread test so you can see where the hot/cool spots are as these don't heat totally evenly so you'll likely need to do some shifting/rotating some things to get a more even crust.
