I get a daily news/articles feed here:https://nextdraft.com/   that includes articles across many subjects. Here's one from a couple of days ago (yes, behind in my reading) that talks about an industry that has adapted and will remain in a new space given the pandemic.

You folks that have access to ocean seafood (at a reasonable cost or catch your own), know that I live vicariously through your posts.  Thanks for sharing the catch and the cooks.

Big Green Egg and accessories, golf, or any other hobby got nothing on what it costs to offshore fish. But man is it fun

No adult pics??? Well, that's ok, I used to read Playboy just for the articles anyway. :)

Glad to see that some sex workers are finding paths to gain more control over their work life and remuneration. Reminds one of recording artists that start their own labels rather than being "owned by the man" so to speak.

@lkapigian Jerk - Lol. Like I need another project. Oh yes, I think about building an Argentine grill often...
To pass the time recently I enrolled in a MOOC from Harvard about the science of cooking...
Module 1 was elasticity of foods. I learned to calculate the modulus of elasticity of food as well as as the distance between bonds in a food substance.
I need this quarantine to end, lol.

I have a half chicken on now. Rubbed in Jamaican Jerk paste and cherry wood chips added. It will probably be a while , Big Bertha the new large is slower than the old medium. Still cheap on lump though.

Yeah I know, it’s just slower to heat up. Easier to hold on low and slow. I just need to get a kick ash basket for it like I had for the medium.

I plucked this Wolfgang NovoPro toaster oven off Craigslist for free this evening. Brand spanking new. Never been used. CNET had it listed for $499.99. It seems really nice. Spring loaded lever to shut the door and the knobs are buttery smooth.

Our current toaster oven is almost a fire hazard at this point. This should come in handy.

I was surprised to see it under the free section on Craigslist. I even had enough time to look up the model online before emailing.

Wouldn't that be something if it didn't work....

I have a booklet that I need to read as it is a pressure oven. The plug still had the cover on it.

I did plug it in and it came up to temp. I'll definitely keep my eye on it during the first couple cooks though.

I gave away a nice l-shaped glass desk, a glass table, wagon wheels, and an aerator the last few days on Craigslist. I was even offered money for some of it. I just gave it away.

So maybe a little luck was on my side this evening.
