I went last Friday my blood pressure was not good. They doubled my prescription. Was supposed to go do blood work yesterday but didn't make it. I would just be honest on the drinking.

@fishlessman Dang; drinks per month is testing your ciphering skills. I've always been asked in terms of drinks/day so the math isn't as challenging. Good luck.

And he wants to know how much & what kind of exercise each day. They double the alcohol answer and half the exercise answer!

My rule of thumb is to give 1/4 of the true number. Take that @bgebrent

At my visit a few weeks back the nurse asked if I drank daily or occasionally. I just said yes.

I refuse to answer that kind of question, drives the nurse crazy - I know she is just doing her job. I always ask the sawbones if I’m showing any signs of drinking too much, hell he’s the guy with the medical degree and has access to my most intimate parts and workings. To date, he indicates that alcohol does not seem to be an issue, therefore what and how much is irrelevant.
Great guy, long time he has held my life in his hands, we get along just fine.Delta B.C. - Whiskey and steak, because no good story ever started with someone having a salad! -
You can’t fool most doctors, especially if they have your bloodwork labs to look at. You can lie all you want, but your liver enzymes and blood platelet size tell him another story.

The other benefit is the use of CO2 rather than air, the post procedure gas pains are a thing of the past, I do miss letting the loudest longest farts.Delta B.C. - Whiskey and steak, because no good story ever started with someone having a salad! -

My ex-GF, an RN, was 6 months or so older than me, and dutifully got her first colonoscopy after her 50th birthday. Couple days later she was shivering and gasping for breath, told the ER folks her intestine was probably perforated, but the old codger Dr. who looked at her X-ray said, "Nope, don't see nuthin'". She argued to get another opinion, then another, who finally found the perf; she damn near died.
I got nagged constantly to get one after my birthday, but to this day I haven't/won't._____________Tin soldiers and Johnson's coming...

"Just a fifth."
He casually forgot to tell me about the 30 (yes, 30) beers he also drank daily.
That's when I learned that you have to ask about alcohol AND beer consumption.#1 LBGE December 2012 • #2 SBGE February 2013 • #3 Mini May 2013A happy BGE family in Houston, TX. -

I've read all the posts in this thread, but the one that really counts here are the ones from "bgebrent".
I'm a prostate cancer survivor so I know first hand (or digital ha ha ha) that such tests while unpleasant are important if you care about your own well being, much less that of your spouse and offspring!Re-gasketing America one yard at a time. -
Had my annual yesterday - felt so cheap. I expected he'd buy me dinner before shoving his finger up my arse. A little bit of discomfort is a minor inconvenience when compared to the alternative.
The PSA lab test is another good screening, but dude, get the colonoscopy - seriously.MMBGE / Large BGE / XL BGE (Craigslist Find) / SF30x80 cabinet trailer - "Ol' Mortimer" / Outdoor kitchen in progress.

Colon cancer probably isn't that bad.
You drive a car I'd guess? Know anyone that's ever been in a car accident? Your logic doesn't really hold up very well.
Now if you're just afraid that you might push back and moan a little and maybe enjoy it just a little too much, that's another thing. -
My mom had a serious case of colon cancer in her mid 30s. She's still with us and is kicking it at 77.When I was in my mid 20s I was having some GI issues, so I've had colonoscopies every 3-5 years since then. All have been clean.
Besides from the Army Dr at BAMC who did my first and didn't agree with liberal use of anesthesia, all have been really no big deal. In fact, I would say the 5-7 seconds before the propofol really kicks in, makes it all worth it.Like many others have said, get it done. Sure as hell beats shitting in a bag for the rest of your life or eve worse.=======================================
