I am hoping the medication will solve the issues.

I was going through the same thing. I have a dog now that requires a 5K walk when I am home, which cuts heavily into my drinking time and eating time, making me sleep better, and as it works out, my bp has lowered my cholesterol has lowered and my meds have reduced significantly.

Exercise and more rest has really cut my health issues back in the last year.

I would be glad to send you the dog if it would help.

I am here for you my friend.

would not of thought this would be as hard to get ahold of. this last med had me so dizzy and fatigued that my 4 to 5 am mornings became 10 am this last fall, glad im off it. exercise on it was impossible, climbing down stairs became two hands on the rails. hopefully this problem goes away in a few days, on to the next med. anyways, more blood tests and ultrasounds

Exercise may not be possible that the moment. I have stepped up my exercise routine significantly and can't tell you how much of a difference it has made to my health and energy level. Wishing you the best with your challenges Fish.

Hope things stabilize with your new meds. Losing the weight will almost certainly help your cardiovascular health, as will exercise.

Wishing you the best, so you can keep enjoying the things you do.

I had a medication change, that while cutting it back, would put me right out. I take them at night prior to going to bed, which helps.

Pulling for you my friend. Hope you slay them on the ice this season.

Wish you the best Fish. I'll pray the docs can get a handle on medication and dosage.

change in meds again today, just the chlorthalidone for now. told him last time that the amlodipine would not fly with my periodontist =) so now its 7 changes in meds in 10 months.  more liver tests after finding no fatty liver, pretty sure from reading its the ibupropen ive been taking like candy for the last 30 or so years thats raising the enzymes up to 75 which doesnt really look bad to me at all considering. starting to think i should write my own prescriptions and just let the doc sign it =)

What is the problem with the amlopidine re the periodontist?  I just changed from losartan to amlopidine, wife uses the same periodontist as I do and she takes amlopidine also.  Losartan had too many side effects, almost as bad as the statins for me.  Last visit to the periodontist I had to set the hygienist straight.  When she asked me if I had taken my antibiotics (hip replacement a year ago) I said no, I'm not taking them.  I could tell she was building up to a lecture so I cut her short, and ended with a "by the way, Dr. XYX your boss, doesn't take his either".  He also had a hip replacement, after which you are doomed to a gut bomb dose of antibiotics an hour before any dental work.  I won't bore ya'll with the research, Google will tell you, if you are interested.

losartan put me in a ball on the floor within three days.  i have deep periodontal pockets along the gums on the rear molars, they were at the worst 11 mm deep, now at 7mm in one area. the calcium channel blocker doesnt let the gingival tissue to stick as well as it should to the roots. bp after lunch was 124/77, hope this sticks with just a water pill

Thanks, fishlessman.  I have a 9mm pocket at one rear molar.  On the next trip to the periodontist I will discuss the situation with him. On the first day off of losartan, my legs were pain free, other than the banged up knee. retired since September, trying to get my weight at the right place.

so now the liver specialist. ultrasound, nothing to see there, liver blood tests panels etc, minimal damage (assume that means none found) advice is to stop drinking as in zero drinks per night. how does that add up =) quack

been cutting the chlorthalidone down to 12.5 mg since april. about 3 hours after taking the stuff i start hearing old time band music, lasts about an hour, usually on the boat on quiet mornings. starts when the downrigger cables start to hum. strangest thing. this type music just starts playing, its not a song stuck in my head, i actually hear it. i actually look forward to it =)
