My FIL just stopped by (lost his wife of 50 years a few weeks ago) as I was taking a few simple burgers off the egg. We persuaded him to stay and eat dinner with us. He stayed and talked for a couple of hours. It was a nice visit. They fed me and Mrs. Bucky hundreds of times when we couldn't afford pinto beans. Nice to repay it a little.
The best things in life are not things.

Great cook. For those wanting to now move to Nola's neighborhood, I suggest zillow. There are some great deals. They'll be selling fast, if he keeps this up.

Realizing I'm running out of time to learn all the things on my list before I kick it. I suppose that's why they say you'd better enjoy the journey.

Planning to cook this tomorrow, I have been wanting to try it since @bgebrent originally posted! I have been in the combine for days (rained this afternoon) so it was hard to decide between a low and slow tomorrow or this. The halibut was at the top of the pile in the freezer.nolaegghead said:its fish, if that isn't obvious.
I am going smoke some salmon tomorrow for dip and make the potato halibut dish.
Thank you all for new cooking ideas I am not creative however I follow instructions well!

Got to our home base we chose for the Crater Lake climbs and hikes. Did Diamond Peak today.
Saw 5 bald eagles at the cabin where we are staying. Together. 2 just flew over us as I type.
Gray Whales were seen in packs today. We stopped along the coast and watched these magnificent creatures in the clear, cold water off the beach shores.
We drove inland about 200 miles, and not one place, ever did we anything that was not beautiful.
Here is the image I tried to capture with my phone. It is the first of the five that flew away together. At the top of one of the Ponderosa Pines that are generously spotted, surrounding our cabin.

With the sun setting, leaving just its last light, on the William's River, which is the one of the only few places you can, or will, find a Red Ring Rainbow Trout (Don't Ask, I have no clue). We are sitting outside with no lights, watching the fish fly from the water to snag flying insects competing with another insectavor, bats. Very cool....."Knowledge is Good" - Emil Faber
