Oh yeah, and my Thermapen crapped out today too.
Well, that's three. You should be good now. But I'd still avoid Chipotle for a while. =)

Try new batteries, BTW. Mine just died too and that's all it was.

I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!

@The Cen-Tex Smoker Were you testing the temp on veggies or some other non-meat when your thermapen pooped out? Looking for a theme/trend here...

Large BGE & Mini Max for the wok. A few old camp Dutch ovens and a wood fired oven. LSG 24” cabinet offset smoker. There are a few paella pans and a Patagonia cross in the barn. A curing chamber for bacterial transformation of meats...
"Bourbon slushies. Sure you can cook on the BGE without them, but why would you?"

You got some bad juju going on.

I agree that you need to make peace with the gods by sacrificing an animal.

    1. Get a goat.

    2. Let @henapple make sweet love to it.

    3. Cook it on Curry Egg and eat it (the goat... not Tony).

I am but it's been weird since I got it back from them. you had to have it in the exact right spot for it to turn on etc. Could be a battery but I think it's had a short in it since they repaired it last time.

Not sure I want to eat a goat that has been amorous with tony (or anyone else for that matter).

+1 on the vitamix.  Except now karma will make sure it happens to me...

You should go get an eye patch and visit the doctor.  Blendec will put a new boat in your driveway.

@The Cen-Tex Smoker good to know Blendtec is replacing it for free.

That is TBD. I have a call in but have not spoken to them yet.

Oh yeah, and my Thermapen crapped out today too. #firstworldproblems

Scary, glad no one was injured. Some juice places have each Vitamix enclosed in clear housing (like how noisy printers were enclosed in the early days), now I realise may be it's purpose could be more than just for sound insulation!

Won't show that to my wife. She griped about me buying a pressure cooker 'cause she had seen the old ones blow up. Now I've got a Blendtec. At least she already leaves the room to avoid the noise when I use it.

I would buy another Blendtec in a second. It has a motor strong enough to throw a strawberry through a supposedly bullet proof jar :)

It actually has been a kick ass blender. I'm interested to see what they have to say about it. I use frozen fruit and hot water to make my smoothies. That softens up the fruit just enough to make really smooth smoothies but they are still semi frozen when done. I wonder if that had anything to do with it? It really shouldn't with a plastic jar but it's the only oddity I can think of outside normal use. We could have dropped it or something in the years we have had it and it possibly had a hairline crack that has been holding on for life for a year. I dunno, but it has been a great blender.

It would be nice if they did since those mixers are 100-120.
Blendtec?  No way.  Maybe a Ninja.

Blendtec and Vitamixes cost way more..... or maybe I got ripped off ;)

Just wondering perhaps extreme temperature differential may have caused it? Did you store the jar in the freezer or was the frozen fruits left in the jar for an extended time, thereby chilling the jar thoroughly, and then the instant heat from the high speed blade, boom?  If there was also a hairline crack then the stars were perfectly aligned for disaster?

I recall @Little Steven had a CI pan that cracked/exploded on the induction cooktop  :s
