Oh man. I hope folks who need power for home medical equipment have it, or have arrangements for it. Take care of your yourselves, and your neighbors, as best you can.

This is similar; I don't remember it being on The Weather Channel!  (I also now noticed he's leaning the wrong direction )

No, it's still f*cking insane outside right now.  Hopefully later tomorrow or the next day.  The roads take a while to clear after a storm this destructive.

    Got internet back!!!!

Although, Entergy has announced that there is ZERO power in New Orleans right now.  Catastrophic transmission infrastructure failure.  Something happened like a transmission tower fell into the river.

Probably will equate to a longer period to restore power.

I'm going to change the oil on the generator tomorrow and maybe every 2nd or third day to keep this baby running.  Might be on it for days or weeks.  Hope our natural gas keeps running, although I got one of my gasoline generators back so worst case I'll run that and I have an inverter ductless AC in the bedroom that it will run, but we'll be slumming it at that point.  Could be alot worse, I feel bad for the majority of folks that stayed with no generator or gasoline units.

Just throwing this out there, iffn it be useful intel... but, when Harvey hit, Costco was one of the last to run out of groceries/gas, and one of the first to have their pumps running again, after the biblical rain stopped.

Probably because of membership requirement, but whatevs.

I have never understood why American news organizations feel the need to film reporters literally getting pummeled by wind and rain and waves to illustrate how bad a storm is.  Why do we keep doing this?  It’s galactically stupid.

its entertaining up here in boston when the reporter is outside showing how bad it is and a guy on a bicycle passes behind them not skipping a beat

plenty of groceries on the coast, the tail of the storm leaves baitfish close to shore which always brings in the big ones. fishing in the eye can be a bit tricky but always produces, the trick is finding someone to operate the net to come along
