Gotta love the flat windshield on a Jeep. Same way we love it on the Bronco. About to have our third put on in 2 years
Insurance companies are starting to drop people who have too many zero deductible claims in Arizona.  So I have a $250 deductible, saved me $1k/year so if I have less than 4 claims I break even.

Not sure I understand your math...you break even at exactly four claims, come out ahead if less than four, no?

How does that mesh with Arizona state law which requires auto insurance companies to provide free windshield replacements to folks that have comprehensive coverage? It seems that if one person (with company "A") has a rash of windshield replacements and gets dropped they just go with another company (company "B"). Somebody with company "B" gets dropped and goes with company "A". Wash, rinse, repeat. So you end up with this merry go round which I'm not sure how the average insurer really gains a big advantage.

Buying two windshields. I don’t file claims for the small stuff. I’ll get screwed in the long run if I do.

If I have 3 or less I am money ahead.  At 4 I break even, and beyond that I lose money.  My post was inaccurate.

Didn’t know we had state law that mandated coverage.  Not sure how they do what they do, but insurers and politicians are all similar and only slightly better than Mac Haik Dodge.

Some geeks I follow listed their favorite tech items from 2023, and two of them really raved about this:  https://www.eightsleep.com/product/pod-cover/   It's a mattress pad that has water and electricity flowing thru it, with lotsa sensors, and it uses AI (mebbe) to learn your sleep patterns and adjust to warm/cool/even vibrate thru the night to give you the best sleep.
I saw the price so I'm not buying it, but here's the real kicker: its most advanced features are only available via paid subscription, like heated seats in a BMW.  For what's essentially an electric blanket.

The price was steep to buy in, but still intriguing, especially when considering other sleep aid prices like CPAP machines …. but subscriptions and multi-tiered subscriptions at that. ****’em. If you want a subscription then lease me the hardware. Either I buy the hardware and get the functionality or you sell me a subscription w/free hardware. Especially when the promoted features don’t work without the sub. When this company folds in 2 years I will just have a very expensive bed cover.

Lucky me, shattered my ceramic grill grate due to a random “dog chase squirrel” situation.

Emergency run to Ace since I have 2 tomahawks and 2 filets to grill tonight and was ‘welcomed’ to find that this POS now retails for $80!!    WTFF?    Literally the biggest POS grill grate out there and they want $80?    Incredible.

Beef in Mérida, Mexico. This tenderloin was just choice to boot.

    $3383.26 MXN without tax.
Equivalent to $267.85 CAD or $200.56 USD.

Served it to a local friend and his family in the area who had only twice before had beef.
